Finally, teaching (just) one yoga class again! Felt so good to loosen those muscles.

Run on my Elfenauloop. The roads were icy-warmslush-slippery, so I tried to take smaller trails in the woods as they had soaked up all the snow, but they had done major wood cuttings in these woods and put all the small branches on the trail. So, very slow going/hopping.
At the end, I got tired and slowed down to a crawl. Haven't done any real running in a while, but so glad I was out.

Canoeing in Everglades from Flamingo out into the bay. First against the current and coming back easy. Still had to fight some waves. Saw shark (!) and a stingray I must have disturbed was splashing against my oar and scared me to death.
Also saw lots of big birds nesting: egrets, Wood Storks, herons, ospreys and the roseate spoonbill in whole flocks being busy building their nests. Of course, there were the usual aligators and 2 fierce-looking crocodiles. Fun, fun.
Now we will have to trade Shorts and Shirts again for jackets andfFleece.

Late in the evening, I went to the hotel's Fitness Center and did 2x 15 min on cross Trainer and and the treadmill. Finished it with leg extensions, 15,12, 8x and could not do anymore.

(The activity was actually kayaking)
The day started with clouds and wind, so all the water activities were cancelled. And the town of Key West was full of tourists, so we did not want to stand in line forever to get into the Hemingway house, so we had lunch in the 6-toed-cat Restaurant, went T-Shirt Shopping in the Life-is-Good store and then went back to the Hotel talking to our Haitian Driver for a while and the weather cleared up and the sun came out. We decided to make a quick run for a canoe rental. We still had to fight some waves, wind and current and kayaked in a Mangrove bay and then up the "Riviera" Canal and could not find the cut through the mangroves into the adjacent bay before we had to head back as the rental place closed at 5 pm.
That was a fun outing.

We had found some beautiufl Cottages (Rolling Wave Cottages) on Longboat Island and spent a leisurely day on the beach but also with another exploratory jog along the road to a public park and back along the beach.

Drove to the Honeymoon Island and took the Ferry over to the Caladesi Island. Did a slow exploratory run in the Woods and back along the beach to catch up with Urs who was carrying all our stuff back to the Ferry dock.

Swimming 1:00:00 [1]

snorkeling and Swimming with the Manatees at 7 am in Crystal River, Florida. What a wonderful experience to actually swim with those gentle giants. Some were shy others quite curious.
The toughest part was getting out of that 71 degree water back onto the boat with the air temperature being less than 50 degrees plus a cold wind. And it was only a Little past 8 am!

Decided to do classic x-c skiing again as I seem to get the best workout and the feel for it is coming back as I had started doing that when I was 14, before I even orienteered.
After Mont Racine, I dipped into thick fog and went on to the turnaround not realising that the fog was spreading fast. It was eery skiing in total grey as I could barely make out the tracks, and often there were none. Once, I even skied into the deep snow. Luckily after Les Grand Pradières, on the La Chaux-de-Fonds-side, there was no fog anymore.

After taking down the Christmas tree at Marianne's and lunch, I escaped quickly to get out of the fog and drove to the Gantrisch.
Classical ski, the tracks were icy and it was quite tough to ski, should have taken the skate skis. But good workout anyway.
In the evening, my butt and hamstring already started tightening up, so I must have pushed it more than I thought. Classical skiing seems to have a better training effect on me as I am never sore after skate skiing. Hmm?

Does that qualify? Taking down all the Christmas trees (35 pieces) and ALL of the decorations, sorting them, boxing them and filling up the racks and hauling everything down to the storerooms where I first cleaned out and arranged things with all the other decorations. My back and feet were killing me after 4 hours of hard labor. In the afternoon, I put back the normal furniture in the hotel hall, hauled back "my" plants and re-did the normal decorations until I had enough and left by 3 pm totally "dead".
I am not used that hard labor anymore ;-/). But it looked good again.

Did the same loop as on Sunday, but today the conditions were much better. Tried the classic skis for the first time this season. So much fun how easily they climb! I was 5 and 10 min faster at some of the crossroads than on Sunday. Beautiful sunny day, lots of people on the tracks and everywhere.

After working on Monday, then party in our block and not going to bed till 3, New Year's Day was a dreary day at home ;-/)
