Teaching classes 1:30:00 [2]

Teaching 3 classes: doing upper body strength with the strong bands, some exercises with partners. Part of it is quite hard, I felt my muscles afterwards!

Nordic Walking 1:00:00 [1] 4.2 km (14:17 / km)

NW class, most of my seniors came, they are so faithful!! And it just started snowing and getting cold. Drove with the car down to the Lake of Thun and walked from there through the Nature Reserve Park to the ruins of Wyssenau, along the Aare and back. One could not see any shores on the lake, it looked like an ocean! Very neat scenery and weather moods.

Before, teaching the core conditioning class, quite tough!

Downhill skiing 2:00:00 [2]

Another day skiing in Mürren. Waking up with very thick fog again. We rode up the cable to the top (Schilthorn, 007 peak) for breakfast and shortly before getting out of the fog into sunshine! Beautiful day in the sun while the rest of Switzerland lay under a thick layer of clouds! Skied all day, did 4 runs down the Schilthorn and tons more on the lifts below. Lots more people today, but still incredible snow. Did some runs through the deep snow off-piste and the snow was great to carve through.
Just before 4 pm we got too tired and headed down into the thick fog again, this time though, with lots of other people. A great day out!

Downhill skiing 1:30:00 [2]

Caught a hole in the clouds and fog and went skiing on the Schilthorn in great weather. We skied a total of 6 hours but I am putting in only 90 min counting the black runs down from Schilthorn and further down the cannon ball which are both very steep and narrow and winding along cliffs. They are usually icy but now with the new beautiful snow very "easy" to ski and pure pleasure. We have tons of snow in the mountains. We stayed for the weekend in Mürren where snow walls pile over 2 meters along the trails to houses and hotels. So neat!
We came down from the mountain after 3 pm in the thickest of fog because the weather had moved in again. It was very tough coming down from the top down those black runs and not seeing beyond 5 meters, sometimes "just" following the snow walls so we would not miss the track and fall off ;-). Creepy but still kind of fun. Also it was impossible to see what's up or down so the legs had to stay very nimble and be prepared for anything. Luckily, we were almost alone out there.
We ended up going in the sauna again and my legs were really dead in the evening.

Went to La Vue des Alpes and did the normal tracks, nice abundant snow but it was warmish and my skis were sticking. In fact, on the uphills I did the classic style! First I was a bit above the fog or clouds, then it caught up and I was in the middle of fog not seeing 10 meters. One time, I missed the track and followed it thinking it would head back to the main trail again but it turned the wrong way. As I could not go through the deep snow, I had to backtrack where I turned off.
I was very tired when I got back, it was a strength workout because I had to work so hard as I couldn't slide.
Still very beautiful outside!

Also teaching my eve class for core conditioning and it was quite tough with step warm-up, then 2 sets of 4 exercises each for 20 to 100 times. I had 3 strong men and one woman, so I needed to crank things up a bit.

Teaching core conditioning class with step warm-up and set of 4 exercises in a row with 20 reps each. Hard workout, end with pushups and some other calistethenics

NW class from Matten over the old airfield to the wooden bridge over Lütschine. Another birthday coffee and sweets afterwards. Such a stressful bd time in my classes ;-) ;-)

Teach 2 yoga classes (added an evening yoga class). Quite hard in the evening, I was much better in the morning with balances and concentration. Have to start to focus on that.

Went up to the niderhorn in Simmental again as on Sunday. This time coming up from the other side leading my snowshoe class up. Wonderful day less cold today but incredible snow. Too bad wasn't up w my skis.

Did a warm-up climb onto the Niderhorn in the Simmental. Very nice, climbed a ridge all the way (no danger for avalanches). Up on top not that much snow, all windblown, but on the side skiing down we found some really nice powder. Quite cold with a stiff northerly breeze.

Went to Adelboden to escape our fog/clouds and found sunshine! Did the valleyfloor loop. It did lots of undulating along a slight slope which made it hard technically to push uphill. First a 7k loop, then another 3 1/2 k loop.Met up with Christine, Kurt and their grandson.

A very sunny beautiful day, and we have received tons of snow these last 2 weeks. Went to Beatenberg, Waldegg and did the "Ambühl" loop but as there were lots of people and dogs and sledders using the nicely groomed and prepared x-c tracks, I went further towards Habkern until the grooming stopped. Turning back the same way. Annoying these people on the tracks when there are at least another official sledding track and a snowshoe trail and a winterwalking trail. But it was very nice to be out anyway.
Had to hurry as we had the yearly hotel field trip and party in the evening.

Teaching core conditioning class with some strength emphasis on legstrength endurance and balance.

Big class today: went behind the pool along railroad tracks, up at Harder trail and back down to the marmots and along pigeon trail to Goldswil and Aare back. Nice group and good pace!

Mini Tramp running again with a constant heartrate of 120-140 while watching Dario Cologna in this exciting difficult and long x-c race at the Tour de Ski! Now he can win the total tour :-).
Did some crunches and tricep dips and push-ups, 20 each plus some yoga stretches, but really did not have time for more.

Teaching 2 yoga classes today, one in the morning, another one instead of the eve NW class as storm "Andrea" was shaking the hotel and throwing rain sideways at the windows.
Good workout, long slow stretches and good poses vinyasa-style so that the sweat was just flowing with everybody.

Had to work to make up for Monday off! Good class with a "full house"! Core strengthening and upper body strength with bands.

NW class with the seniors; only a few came but they were the faster ones: went to the Lombach, did a loop on the wood chips track and back over the wooden bridge. Beautiful late afternoon after a rainy day. It had cleared and the quarter moon was smiling on us!

Running on the mini tramp while watching the Tour de Ski with very exciting race 2x10km pursuit between Dario Cologna and Petter Northug. The faster they skied, the faster I ran ;-).
