Yoga 1:30:00 [2]

Teaching 2 yoga classes (instead of Thu) and feels good to stretch and strengthen.

Tomorrow I'll fly to US for Champs and seeing Christoph :-)))!!!

Do Lombach Loop, easy as I managed to give myself sore muscles again form Sunday (?) or the classes yesterday ;-). Cold rain and windy, nasty conditions.
17.39 frist bridge, 13.38 all way down, 31.18 total and 28.53 back.

Nordic Walking in rain to the ruins Unspunnen; ghostly walk :-).
Have very sore muscles all over but especially in my legs. Am I getting sick or is it just yesterday's training and strengthclasses?

Also teaching 2 classes today, little effort but felt muscles a bit.

2 weeks ago I wrote that I knew some day, I will run this loop under 40 Min. Well, i gathered it would be next year, but no! I did it today!! I felt good and strong and quickly got a run in over lunch because I can't go in the evening anymore because we changed back to wintertime :-(.
25.31 first farm house, 14.24 back.

Hiking with Sandra onto the Wiriehorn! Almost sunny, but cold and beautiful fall day. We needed to escape the fog and greyness in the lower elevation that stretches over the whole middleland. With this kind of weather pattern, the mountains usually are warmer with blue skies!

Run to Bleiki again, a little slower than last week; saw 3 chamois!! (Gemsi) a mother with a little one and another one :-).
42.31 up and 23.04 down and back.

Run Lombach loop alone; feel energetic and strong; expected to be faster than usual again, but wasn't. After 4 days of fog and grey in grey, the sun finally appeared again :-). (it has been most beautiful in the mountains, only 10 min away from where I work, so frustrating to sit in this soup all week.)
16.23 first bridge, 29.16 bridge all down (12.53) and 27.12 back to hotel.

Teach very full and good yoga class. Dynamic and teach a few new poses. Feels very good.

Run at lunch in wicked cold and grey weather. Still felt Sunday's race and legs were tired. Easy run.

Fast Nordic Walking with my big group up to the Wachtfeuer; first time it has been dark all the time; it felt great to walk through the woods in the dark.

Teaching 2 classes for core training. (I am not going to write down the total time I was teaching, 2 x 45 min, because I feel it should not all be counted as real training.)

Orienteering race 53:10 [5] 4.1 km (12:58 / km) +180m 10:38 / km

Last Nat.A race near Wil; I was really psyched up and wanted to run well and practice my competitive edge. I succeeded quite well and tried to push and to be concentrated all the time. Later, studying the course, I realised that I still was not entirely clean. 2 1-minute mistakes and one 2-minute mistake plus 20 secs here and there. But physically, I seem to gain speed and I am more and more able to stay with the first few.
The fact that I was 5 min late at the start, did not interfere with my attitude. What was more unnerving was the fact that I did not get a clue sheet at the start as I was directed on an outside lane to start. So, I tried to calm myself and to take it as a good training to be absolutely sure of the control I was "punching". I was very pleased with the outcome and encouraging result. (I am not running for any ranking points, I have missed too many meets this year.)

Run to Bleiki at lunch. Feel tired at beginning w/heavy legs, but then gets easier. Same time as 2 weeks ago (I'm surprised!), a little slower up and faster down! 42.12 up and 22.04 down and back. Cold northwind today.

Run the Gnome-Sheep trail to Goldswil and back; kind of cold. I think I turned a corner seeing how my times have improved! Great :-)
25.56 first house; 15.03 back for 41.00. I know one day I will break the 40 minutes!

Run at lunch with St.Zimann again; slower start, but seem to able to push it alone on way back! Still temporun with him, but eventually same time as 2 weeks ago :-).
16.16 first bridge; 28.26 bridge at road (12.09) and 26.47 (!!) back.

Nordic Walking with only a small group :-(. Go to Lombach, over fields Lehn and back via hospital. Lots of people at council meeting for future Mystery Park or hospital/sick. Strange these ups and downs sometimes in attendance. Beautiful balmy evening and walking in the dark.

Climbing the Schwarzhorn near Grindelwald on an absolutely beautiful fall day. I had wanted to climb this peak for a long time. It is steep, has ropes and chains to hold on to. Christoph, do you remember our climb last year? This is the peak on our left when we climbed through the rocky saddle.

Run in Bern:high above Aare upwards through woods and embassies to Muri and Auguet Bridge; I am over 5 min faster than in July and 20 min faster than in January!! It feels so good to get back in shape again after many years of injury and surgeries.

NW with group to Säumertaverne along Jungfrau Marathon course; have dinner there and with bus back down.

Run at lunch by myself Loop Lombach; funny how much slower I am when alone as compared to last week when pushed by s.zimann! 16.36 first bridge, 13.17 all the way down crossing road/bridge (total 29.53) and 27.41 back. Feel much better today, have energy; can push but nowhere near a temporun.

Strength 45:00 [1]

Teaching conditioning class; do circuit for core strength with using major muscle groups; do repeats of 8 - 12 - 15 reps. Feels very good!

Feel quite tired from not sleeping well with my persistent dry cough; and still some soreness from Sunday's O'meet!! Run easy without pushing, just for getting rid of some cobwebs in my head and leg muscles!

NW down Aare and across fields to other side Unterseen; very nice, have a large group and go with on my bike to be able to manage this big group.

Orienteering race 56:38 [5] 7.0 km (8:05 / km) +180m 7:10 / km

Nat A-meet in Stein a.Rhein on German border. Beautiful woods, open, fast running. It was humbling to realise how fast some of these old ladies can run!! Made mistakes on #1+2 for lack of concentration, then I could start speeding up. Must have fumbled on some legs anyway when I compare my times with some of the others. At 2nd last control completely missed seeing the last control and ran far down when i realised that the circle I was heading towards were the finish circles!! Climbing back up, losing at least 3 minutes, probably 4 :-(. Ahh, I am still struggling with lack of competition edge, and this was an easy course, so I did not concentrate enough. My plus are sprints or technically hard courses as I seem to be able to concentrate quite well and fare better than others.

Run Bleiki and faster again; cracked the 42 min up! goal is to get there under 40 min someday. 41.50 up and 22.52 down. It was good to rest from running for 2 days as my legs were tired from the Bikeride on Monday. I just need longer recovery time since I'm older ;-(. It will take awhile until I will have built up my form again after 4 years of injuries/surgeries/recoveries. BUT, i can run again :-))).

Same course as last Tuesday with Jun.hotel owner (S.Zimann) and temporun for me. Feel last night's bike training! Still, I'm 2 min faster than last week :-).
13.49 first bridge Lombach; 26.28 down bridge at Lake Thun and 28.48 back to hotel.

Mountain Biking 2:09:00 [3] 38.0 km (3:24 / km) +400m 3:14 / km

Try my new mt.bike and ride from hotel around Lake of Brienz. Beautiful fall evening first high above the lake on trails and then back on other side mostly on roads in the dark. Push hard. Also wanted to check whether I should even consider running the foot race in 2 weeks. It is such a local highlight around here (like the Garden race in CS), everybody is cheering, but still, it is 35 km long!
