Running 1:01:41 [3] 7.0 km (8:49 / km) +66m 8:25 / km

My intention was to run on the Planeyse, maybe even go on the soft track. But the westwind was blowing so hard that I decided immediately to do something else. So I dipped down into the wineyards and over along the river Areuse and the Lake of Neuchâtel and eventually up a bunch of stairs over the hill behind our house. This way, I was protected from the wind and had a beautiful time.
Stopped to take so many pictures as the scenery with the golden evening light was glorious. I had so much fun taking pictures, chatting with people and framing scenes from different angles.
I really love living in this area, the beauty of the landscapes is close to my soul, yet the views are always open and far.

Jogging 47:39 [2] 4.08 km (11:40 / km) +144m 9:55 / km

Had an almost 10-day enforced winterbreak due to nasty weather, 3 days of work (winter deco), babysitting, having company, but most importantly because I got the intestinal flu. Whew, I felt weak, no energy and miserable. It had hit me at work, and I almost fainted first because all energy just deflated me. Slowly recovered over about 5 days.
So this was my first attempt for a little stroll-jog as I had wanted to be out in that warm, sunny and beautiful weather. Felt happy though with little strength. But it must be uphill from here now!

Running 1:02:29 [3] 5.83 km (10:43 / km) +33m 10:25 / km

A very slow run, could not get my legs to move. Did 2x1km on the Wood chip track anyway.
Just didn't have the energy today.
Later, after the fire insurance inspection of our new Apartment, I went to Interlaken to spend the night and Chat with friends.

Running 45:57 [3] 4.93 km (9:19 / km) +144m 8:08 / km

Could get a decent run in after a no-sleep night with Matti being sick starting around 2 am, and when he finally found some sleep around 6 am, Lena was up!! Matti was brave boy when throwing up, no complaints or crying, and I tucked him in again wherever he could lie down while the wash was turning cleaning sheets and PJs.
The run into the setting sun with an incredible view from the Bernese Alps to Mont Blanc was much better than expected. Very warm before the temps should dip by the end of the week.

Mountain Biking 2:15:10 [2] 26.9 km (5:02 / km) +407m 4:40 / km

Run ride first with Urs, then we separated and I rode into the Val de Travers, that is the Areuse Gorge. First, I was on a small paved road into the Canyon which was really wonderful. Saw many pretty spots with the gorge underneath. Turned around where the road crossed the Creek and headed back the same way but when a trail veered off down to the water, I took it even though it said absolutely no bikes or mt.bikes. I soon found out why: first, the trail was rocky but manageable, then it crossed again and from that Point on it became very wild. Rocks, cliffs and deep gorges and eventually the Areuse found ist way through a very, very passage, sometimes dug deep into the rocks, sometimes flowing underneath. It was very impressive. I decided to continue my adventure as I knew that with the expected colder temps, and maybe some snow this narrow place would soon be impassable because of ice. I ran with the bike where I could, but mostly carried it up, down or over rocks, cliffs, steps in the cliffs, down stairs that were more like laders. Evenutally, the trail crossed again at a narrow place and soon I saw that the end of this famous Areuse Gorge would be near.
I had so much fun and was glad that I experienced it.
On the way back home up over the Planeyse, the Military People were playing their Military games, recruits, and the sheepherd was transferred from one place to another for grazing, and I couldn't get through and waited and watched for about 10 minutes. Fascinating to observe those sheep, lead by a goat (!) which seemed to be the smartest of them all. The donkey that also belongs to that herd, was tied to a post and was not allowed to move. The sheepherding Dogs did a fine Job with the herd.

Tried another loop and went down to the lake, folllowed it on a pretty Little trail and from Boudry Port up along the Areuse Creek to the wineyards and found a trail through it then up to the Planeyse and back home. I loke this loop and will probably do it lots more especially in the winter.

Orienteering race 1:35:50 [5] 6.8 km (14:06 / km) +155m 12:39 / km

Team O-Championship with a team from ANCO (from where we live now). I tried to find 2 more women my age, so we could start in the 185-class. But no luck. I found 2 more and we ran in the W160 class which was longer and harder for me than I am used to plus the two were younger though a little less experienced. Being named the boss of the team after two controls, I decided that the youngest was going to all the controls as she was so fast and actually 16 years younger than I. Us two others kept switching with going to the controls accompanying her as she was still a beginner but picking up fast with map reading.
With no ambition we started but to have a fun experience, it turned out lots of fun and after the middle we found a rhythm alternating and guiding each other. It was a really, really neat experience with the two (and communicating all the time in French!). We came out 5th out of 7, not bad. We all were very happy and the warm sun and temps in the 70s helped also our good mood.

Jogging 15:19 [2] 0.98 km (15:35 / km) +32m 13:24 / km

Jogging to the start. Afterwards, I could not restart my Garmin again. Nervous? My brain fried from talking so much in French with my 2 teammates?? ;-)

Hiking 1:04:51 [2] 4.78 km (13:34 / km) +299m 10:20 / km

Did a "quick" hike up the mountain to clear my head and hopefully, get rid of the headache. And it worked. Didn't push it as I felt weak and somewhat dizzy. Gorgeous day above the fog.
