Went with Urs to the Bremer to run on the wood chip track. First, both calves were tightening up, then it got better and better. Did the 5 loops/3k again and a slow jog back. It started to rain also.

With the bike to Dählhölzli and back; easy run/jog from there, knee hurt a lot but it calmed down; different running shoes helped. Cut the loop short as it also was getting dark. Felt good despite the knee pain.

I wanted to cut some pine branches to cover flowers, so I drove up near the place we were last Sunday and found a fresh cut pine tree to fill two big bags. They are so pretty, dark green and bushy.

Anyway, ran the same place up along the ridge but going further down, then took some small trails on the way back. Some were only tracks, some regular trails that were mostly moss-covered. Eventually, I lost one trail and had to bush-whack to find "my" forest road again. (was lost and made the wrong decision which trail to take at intersections, but eventually, found my way back.)

Ran with the same shoes as on Wednesday, and they definitely hurt my knees, except when I was running on small, soft and mossy trails.

Teaching a Nordic Walking intro class (the first one in a long time); I had lots to do, walking fast at times and demonstrating at others.
Within a few steps my right knee and down the shin started to hurt incredibly. Tried to adjust my gait but, never-the-less, it kept on hurting. Rats!

Teaching 2 core conditioning classes; did sets of 3 exercises, w/8-10-12 reps rights after each other. Those seniors were "complaining"!

First teaching a core conditioning class with 3 exercises for the same muscle group in progression 8-12-15 reps. Quite hard.

Later Nordic Walking class: from the ice rink, we did a loop in the Rugen. It was chilly and the pace was brisk back to a coffee shop!

Went to Zurich to visit old friends: first roamed around in Zurich a bit reminiscing how it was and how I remember it from 40 years ago! Then lunch with a friend and walked the long way back through the shopping part to the train station. Visited another friend for her 60th bd. In the evening, picked up Urs at the airport after his business trip to Tokyo.

Teaching 3 classes (finally, most people showed up again, this has been so frustrating these last months to get people to come to classes). Good circuit and core conditioning training. Some bouncing.

This is somehow a very bad week. I woke up with a HA every morning and the legs and back are aching almost constantly. Haven't had that in many months now. It feels like the fascia is holding my muscles (especially the calf muscles) in a tight grip, so they can't move.
Take an ibuprofen almost every evening to go to sleep.
Pretty bad run, sunny though, but feel like I work too hard to get anyplace, so I walk sometimes and enjoy the beautiful sunshine now after the fog has lifted.

A grey, dragging day. I got up on the "wrong side of the bed" and could not shake that "off"-feeling all day.
Went to the Bremer and did the 7-k loop in drizzling rain. Felt ok, but was surprised to realise that I was between 10-20 sec slower per km, so I must have been dragging. But it felt good to be out.

I have backpain since about Thursday and subsequent ri leg pains again: hamstring and calf. I am trying all kinds of things: massage, stretches but eventually only an ibuprofen helps. The pain is not sharp but obnoxious. Oh well, it will pass, too.

We were going to Swiss O-gala that evening, a grand event!

Ran the Elfenauloop starting from down below. Tried to find a little trail to the East side of the Dählhölzli but seem to find a different route everytime I'm trying.
My right Hamstring still hurts quite a bit.

Teaching my 2 fitness yoga classes.
For some reason my right hamstring is really tight and painful. Can't quite get it away despite the yoga.
On the positive side, I don't seem to feel the quads after yesterday's run down from the Gurten. It really hurt some 2-3 weeks ago when I did that loop.

I was glad I waited until mid-afternoon to go running as the sun came out or better, the fog lifted and it turned out to be an absolute incredible fall day! It was warm the higher I went and the view onto the Alps was astounding. I think I have not done that loop under 60 min yet.
I felt my calves quite a bit, probably from the weight workout yesterday.

Teaching 2 core condition classes: same program as on Monday with leg und upper body strength. Really felt it and was slightly sore.

Earlier in the fall, I had introduced my classes to uni-hockey, and they are really taking to it with our limited space. So much fun, I guess they seldom get so much out of breath anymore!

NW with seniors: went with the bus to Bönigen, then walked back along the Lake of Brienz and the Aare to the hotel. Rain was threatening and only 5 hearty souls showed up.

Earlier teaching my core conditiong class, we did upper body strength with weights plus some leg strength.

Running from home (first time in a few years) and into the rain. Luckily, it was still warm. Stopped quite a bit to look at animals or chat with dog owners or just plain enjoy it and check on how big the young swans have become.

Went up to Tête de Ran and hiked with Urs to the top. Then did an easy jog along the ridge until I needed to turn back.
I was still sore from yesterday and the leg muscles were tired.
