Running 44:48 [3] 8.0 km (5:36 / km) +170m 5:04 / km

Did the gnome-sheep trail. The first time in a very long time, probably it was in January when I last ran this route.
Lots has happened since then: job reduction, injury, moving, etc.

Nordic Walking 1:30:00 [2] 7.5 km (12:00 / km) +50m 11:37 / km

I was teaching two senior classes with core strength and balancing exercises.

In the evening my NW class, and we went towards Wilderswil and around the Kleinen Rugen back.

Backpain is worse.

Teaching classes 1:30:00 [2]

I was teaching my regular core strength class with some good new moves and some aerobic-type coordination steps.

Later I had my seniors and diabetic NW class. Went to the Kleinen Rugen. Afterwards, we were bar-b-queing our Bratwurst in the woods! Lots of fun!!

Orienteering 1:04:00 [3] 4.0 km (16:00 / km)

Did the O-meet that my club was organising up on the Schallenberg Pass. It was hot and humid with occasional downpours and thunderstorms. I did not realise that the courses went down into the steep ravines. With my back pain and cautious mind because of my torn (and now healed) hamstring) I only got through the high ferns, the deadwood and the very steep slopes in a snail's pace. I found the controls with not much problems, but this was just no fun and after I caught up with another gal, we decided to call it a day and walk back after about half way through the course.
Now, that was fun! Chatting and hiking through the steep open meadown back to the meeting place ;-)

Running 48:36 [3] 7.4 km (6:34 / km) +50m 6:21 / km

Run "my" Bremer 7.4 km-loop again. Thought I was quite fast for a while, but it turns out that the time was similar to what I ran in May.
However, my back hurt less!! :-)). Still have steps when my legs seem to want to give in but just very few times.
My left hip and hamstring are still painfull, however, i think that finally the neural impediment coming from the upper pelvic crest has lessened and my muscles are finally freer to move in a more normal pattern. But, my butt muscles are sore because they probably have not been able to work properly either!!

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

Regular Fitness Yoga with more fluid moves non-stop than usual :-). The stretching feels so good on my leg musles. However, i have to watch my back not to want to stretch it too far, that seems to hurt because it still seems to be quite unstable.

Nordic Walking 1:10:00 [2] 6.0 km (11:40 / km) +180m 10:09 / km

Evening Nordic Walking class up towards Bleiki. We went to look for the little marmots in the local animal park (there are 4 newborn which about 2 weeks old) and also enjoyed seeing the young ibex, one is a week old, the other a month. Incredible, how they race around the cliffs and rocks!

Orienteering 42:59 [3] 3.8 km (11:19 / km) +50m 10:37 / km

Abend Ol, orienteering in Schwand near Münsingen in these tiny woods. I chose the D-course as the next higher up was 6.1 km long. So, this course had lots of juniors running on it and many were really serious and fast! Nice to see that kind of committment.
I had little problems, twice I went around the control flag in order to avoid waist high nettles and blackberry thorns, but I am sure it cost me a few seconds! Nice easy course to enjoy.

Running 54:58 [3] 9.0 km (6:06 / km)

Ran with Urs before breakfast and before all the Sunday strollers would be about in the Dählhölzli area.
Ran along the Aare and up Elfenau. From there I went on by myself over to zigzag trail back down to the Aare. Along a little trail which was flooded in spots as the Aare was at a flooding stage with all the rains we have had.

Running 41:33 [3] 7.0 mi (5:56 / mi)

Did a quick run in the rain (less people around!!) to Elfenau and through the Dählhölzli back. Check on the lynx but I hadn't seen any of them in months now!

Unspecified 1 [0]

Stayed in Berlin for 3 days! Very interesting days visiting many of the places such as Checkpoint Charlie and a few remains of the wall. Did a lot of it on a bike by myself as Urs was busy with his legal and financial supervisory duties. Amazing what they have built in those 20 years since the wall fell! Spent most of the time in the part that used to be the Eastern German part but is now the life of the city!

Mountain Biking 57:20 [4] 19.0 km (3:01 / km) +400m 2:44 / km

Went with Christoph to a Mountain Bike-O in the Basel area. I had so much fun the last time a did a bike-O I wanted to try again. This time I pushed a little more but I still could go faster if I were more secure.
This bike-O did not have as many fine orienteering choices so the conditioning was the greater factor.
But I enjoyed it a lot. It had lots of climb, a lot of it already riding up to the start. I probably made a few route choices which took longer but who knows really? Came in 3rd in 55+ only 4 min behind the winner which would have been possible for me to beat.

Biking is good for my back.

Running 49:30 [3] 7.4 km (6:41 / km) +50m 6:28 / km

Ran the 7.4 km loop in the Bremer again. Slow time because my back hurt a lot!

Orienteering 1:02:59 [4] 5.8 km (10:52 / km) +80m 10:10 / km

Did the Abend-Ol in the Bremer and had to do the longer course as the shorter one (3.2 km) seemed too short and easy. Lots of trail running as the woods were very green with nettles and blackberry vines. Can't go any faster as my back hurt quite a lot! :-(
