Teaching classes 1:30:00 [2]

Teaching the Tuesday classes; as I was getting ready for my trip to Florida and working late and being up past midnight, I decided that I needed a break and asked the morning class to come in the afternoon. This way I could relax a bit and prepare at a more leisurely pace. In my age category that's allowed now ;-). Still did not get home til 10pm as usual but at home most things were now prepared and ready.

Teaching two yoga classes.
As my right knee war hurting a lot after yesterday's snowshoetour and I was limping in the eve, I was amazed how yoga in tha morning class alleviated the pain to no pain at all! Does it all lay in the stretching?? I mean extensive long stretching muscles, tendons, ligaminets and especially fascia??

Another snowshoetrip, this time 5 people came along! Beautiful weather but very strong cold North-East wind (Bise) which calmed down on the way back. Incredible views, and I was happy to be able to show this area to the people from Interlaken who rarely leave their front door where the mountain scenery is incredibly close.
Went over the ridge on the way out and along the slope tracking our own way back.

Teaching my Monday core conditioning class: warm-up, then lots of ab exercises finishing with a small circuit all with balance-strength and proprioception exercises. Very dynamic and hard. Had 8 people in the class, almost max what there's room for!
Later NW class along the Aare; quite a bit of snow and some ice in Interlaken.

Skateskiing on Vue des Alpes, actually starting at TĂȘte de Ran as Urs was trying out snowshoeing. I went to the far dead-end of the track to below Mont Racin. Incredible views onto the Alps from Mont Blanc to the Bernese Alps and beyond. However, it was 3 degrees on 1730 m which was way too warm and the snow got glassy fast and I had a hard time on the climbs. My arms and shoulders were also quite tired from yesterday. Still, this was my fastest time despite some stops. A very beautiful afternoon out remembering SaMa's wedding almost exactly a year ago with dinner up here.

I was leading another snowshoetrip from the Jaunpass up to BĂ€derhorn. Because of the prolonged freezing cold we've had that powdery snow did not consolidate, then it got a little warm this Wednesday and another 30 cm of new wetter snow covered that sugar snow. Not a good situation and avalanche danger was/is pretty high. We dug a pit and looked at the snow, exactly how they said. We could most often stick in the poles for 90 cm along the way.
I chose a safe route and as nobody was ahead of us, we needed to break trail. The two men did most of the work as it came up to my hips in spots, and on the really steep section we labored up every meter. Eventually, we reached the upper ridge and decided to just go to the first peak and turn back. My legs were shaking towards the end from the effort of the deep snow. I'm not in that kind of shape anymore, I'm lacking the strength-endurance fitness. But under a blue sky, gorgeous scenery and views from Mont Blanc to Eiger and a good challenge for all, it was a great trip!

Went out with my senior NW group (they are a hardy bunch!) despite the 15 degree weather and strong North wind. Stayed in the neighborhood of Unterseen to be somewhat protected from the wind.

Teaching 3 classes, strength and conditioning, some leg strengh and balance and core conditioning all packed into a fun circuit. The eve class was quite hard, I could not do much any more ;-)

Went for a quick skateski up in Aeschiried, a place that very seldom has enough snow for tracks. This year it is just beautiful! Went when the afternoon sunshine hit the shoulder of this area. Very cold, minus 15 degrees C (5 degrees F) plus a strong Northwind that hit me when coming down.
Afterwards went up to Grindelwald to meet with Urs and his friends for a fondue. Incredible evening someplace in a cabin with a great view onto the Eiger &Co and almost full moon. What a sight :-)!

Mini Trampolin 40:00 [2]

30 min of mini tramp running, tried to "run" hard with elevated pulse. At the end did 100 side squats, 20 push-ups and some ab exercises plus a yoga program.
I did this just after returning from the osteopath. He feels like my muscles really get more suple and the tendons and ligaments softer. I seem to able to stretch my knees almost completely again which also stretches my iliopsoas and lowback. Who knows? I might return to "normal" some day again. But it has been hard sometimes not to go run outside. Luckily it is so cold now and for another week that I might not be tempted.
My knees also crack very loudly which seems to be a good sign (?) that things are not holding that tightly anymore.
