Orienteering race 1:27:01 [2] 3.4 km (25:36 / km) +50m 23:50 / km

US Championships (Classic).
Bear Brook State Park, NH.
M70 (Brown).
Went a slower today. Even so, I missed 3. Had to relocate no the road. Lost a lot of time here. Not sure 7 was in the right place. The control description said south side of a 1.5M boulder, but the boulders near the flag were at most 0.5 M.

Not exactly a clean run, but no big blunders either. Some trouble with 5 and 6, and had to relocate on the road to get to 13. Nice course, if maybe a little short.

DRT
The bridge over Manchester Road was opened last week. DRT now runs from Hopewell Junction to the Walkway over the Hudson. As I've never been on the Walkway and since it was a gorgeous day, I got out the bike. The ride north from the bridge is somewhat different from that to the South. Going South is mostly through wooded areas, where North goes past many industrial sites, a quarry of some kind and a junk yard. There are also more at-grade road crossings Still it's a nice ride. And the Walkway is something else. Quite spectacular. Rode slowly (lots of pedestrians) to the west side and walked back to enjoy the views. The DRT is now about 13 miles and the Walkway adds about another mile. The rail trail continues into Ulster for another four miles. So, maybe next year I'll be able to get into shape to do the whole thing.
