Orienteering race 1:14:07 [4] **** 4.95 km (14:58 / km) +320m 11:19 / km
ahr:142 max:179

Second orienteering run after breaking arm. I entered the short course because when I entered I assumed I would still be only able to walk around. Made a few navigational blues, the usual bunch of suspects - parallel errors, inattention to direction and veering off course - but nothing to match yesterday. Rolled ankle between controls 1 & 2 whgich didn't help. I was a bit disappointed with the course because it was really just a mid-distance again. Longest leg was 500m but at least there were some legs with route choice. I guess I can't expect too much of a 4.4 km course. 4.4 km is what I did, the course setter claimed it was a 3.5 km course.
Course setter chipped me about running down on the short course but there were enough other bushrangers who ran short but are capable of the longer course.

Orienteering race 1:00:15 [4] *** 4.15 km (14:31 / km) +180m 11:56 / km
ahr:146 max:173

First orienteering run after breaking arm. The arm is still sore so I was slow and careful in foot placement. Had a fairly clean run except for one control where I failed to recognise the features within the circle, passed within metres of the control and continued on to the next feature which looked vaguely like what I was expecting. Maybe I need new glasses.
Decided I really don't like this form of orienteering because the legs are so short that it's a straight run at the control and no real route choice required.

I woke up last night to a strange sound - rain on the roof, and quite heavy for a short while. Went for the morning run through the wetlands and there is water flowing in the main watercourse again. A lot of people were out exercising.

Field working the Mossfiel street-o map. A lot of stop-start whilst marking up the map.
Went out with a sore left knee and came back with a sore back - a carry over from my fall on Fuji? Torso muscle pains are settling, it's probably time to risk a visit to the masseur.
