biking 59:50 [5] +322m

Strathpuffer 2020 lap 3 -59.50, official time 1.03
Well that started off as a disaster
Completely messed up timings so was in the portaloo when Laz finished, 3 mins lost already and I wasn’t even on my bike
Icy rocks meant I was going super slow on the technical sections
Didn’t feel particularly great on the climbs either so very surprised that my moving time wasn’t more like 1.05
Dropping a bit behind schedule but we expected this as a team because we aren’t as fit as last year
8 AM

biking 56:30 [5] +322m

Strathpuffer 2020 4th lap - 56.30
Mega happy to get my last lap in that time
Started in dark but finished in daylight
Dingwall started 4 mins before me but I managed to catch him and create a 5 min lead which is insane
Jamie and gregor went and smashed their 4th laps but couldn’t quite keep ahead of Dingwall and we ended up coming third by 3mins!

biking race 50:46 [5] +322m

Strathpuffer 2020 lap 1 - 50.46
Insanely happy with that, 2 min pb
Nerves were kicking in whilst standing in the start line with about 500 other mad people
Managed to get a good position in the run to the bikes and apart from freezing hands the lap went to plan - to get as good a start as possible for the team
4 PM

biking 21:00 [3] +12m

Wee loosen of the legs after setting Laz out
5 PM

biking 57:02 [5] +322m

Strathpuffer 2020 lap 2 - 57.02
Mostly a dark lap
Was going to be a solid 55 lap but completely bonked on the last climb, still chuffed with that though
Pulling in front of dingwall which is lifting spirits around camp

7 PM

orienteering 50:37 [3] 6.6 km (7:40 / km) +62m 7:20 / km
shoes: inov8 x-talon 230

Ness castle and culaird wood NNC-2nd
Horrible woods, mud slippy roots and wet sticks everywhere
All the white was dark green forest and all the darl green was marsh
Most of the controls were in the middle of the marsh
Not one person had a good run or enjoyed going to that dreadful area
Even cannock chase and the Jircs relay area were nicer despite being made from brambles
Good course though, only improvement would to go to a different woods
