Short Series 3. Followed the pink-flagged, unmapped trail toward 2, instead of the correct one that went right next to the control. Now I realize that pink-flagged trails that I’ve followed 3 times now are not on the map - but those pink flags just suck you in!

Marathon Loop 3. With 40 minutes left in the total time (Be on the road by 11:30 for pickup.), I headed out from the Start/Finish to do as many points as I could. At 11:20, I was at the farthest point from the Finish, but 10 minutes from the road, so I went to the road. BUT, once at the road, I was still 20 min from the Finish! I could have (should have, didn’t) finished my course in the same time with less distance and still not have been the last one in! Except for brain death.

Contour O with Vegas. Missed 2 because we were too high. Decided to go back to 1 then go down the stream to find 3, then went back to 2. Went by 3 again, then 4 thru 6, skipped 7 because of time, then did 8 and finished.

Goat with mass start and skipping one control. Several skipped 1, a rock below the cliff. I had practically no distractions (no people in sight) the entire way), and was glad that I saved my “skip” control till 12 when I was really tired.

Score O - Int. My partner, who has done only White and Yellow, not only came back on time but also found 5 points! Yay! Lots of fun!

“Dog Bones” exercise, which is like a Score O but requires more planning and had a 1-hr time limit. I made an error in my plan and had to run extra distance. Completed 4 pairs of controls and 2 half dogbones that didn’t count.

Sprint 3.2 km. The trail from 5 near 6 seems different, and I wandered around near 6 (18 min). Bailed out east to the creek, then found it. For 8 (15 min) tried to follow the SW-trending rocks till I realized I was heading downhill. Followed the SE-trending rocks but cut in too short and wandered.
