Swimming 1:30:00 [2]

Lots of swimming and surfing in the Atlantic Ocean at Assategue Island. The weather was perfect for a day at the beach and tide was coming in making for some nice waves.

Running 1:29:20 [3] 10.0 mi (8:56 / mi)

Long run today. I'm pretty sure this was the first time I have ever run 10 miles. Felt good for the entire run. Got caught in a thunderstorm at exactly half way. Also, I ended up on the same route as the Columbia Bike About so saw lots of cyclists. Even passed a few as they were going up hill very slowly in the rain.

Running 20:12 [3] 2.3 mi (8:47 / mi)

Short, easy run. I did not want to overdo it after the very intense hill workout last night. I ran first mile very slowly then picked it up for the remainder of the run trying to go for 90% effort on the hills.

Running 56:50 [3] 6.2 mi (9:10 / mi)

This was a hill running workout. There are three hills nearby that are all on trails with the bottoms all at a nearby junction. One is short (1/10 mile) and very steep, second is medium length (1/4 mile) and moderately steep and third is long (1/2 mile) and steep at bottom but then flattens out some. I did each hill twice in order of short, medium, long running back down each hill after running up. There is less than 30 seconds running between bottoms of each hill. Very good workout. I was feeling surprisingly good even on the last hill and felt like I was keeping a good pace.

Running 50:50 [5] 6.2 mi (8:12 / mi)

Evening run and one of my best times on the Harpers Farm-Swansfield route. I was able to keep the 8 minute pace for the first 4 miles which is better than have I have done before on this route. Did not fall off as much on the last 2 miles of up hill running. Conditions were ideal with low 80s for temps, sunny and a very light breeze.
