Duathlon 1:54:12 [3]

Completed my first Triathlon. 1000 meter swim in 20:11, 17.5 mile bike in 54:55, 3.4 mile run in 29:39. The swim was better than I expected but very tough in the rough water of the lake. My transition times were not good with over 4 minutes for each of the two transitions - I was resting! I probably could have pushed harder on the bike ride, but wanted to make sure I had something left for the run. The run was hot and hilly. Many people were walking up the hills and I was passing a lot of racers on both the ride and run.

Ran the triathlon course then dropped my bike off at the transition area.

Went to the pool to mostly relax but did a few laps to keep loose for tomorrow.

Rest day before the triathlon on Sunday. Picked up my race packet and goody bag and went to an orientation talk.

Bike to work and home. Distance was a little shorter because I drove my car to the local garage then continued on to work by bike.

Very short run to go get my car from the garage.

Swimming 15:00 [3] 0.45 mi (33:21 / mi)

Did a few laps at Hobbits Glen after picking up my car. It felt great to jump into the pool on this 96 F (34 C) degree day.

P90X Plyometrics. I have not done this for several weeks but it was way easier than ever. The triathlon training must be really whipping me into shape.
