Orienteering race 1:52:01 [5] 7.9 km (14:11 / km) +180m 12:44 / km

Ran the Red course at QOC Meadowood meet. Made a major mistake going to 13. There was very thick green in this area that was not mapped that threw me off. Made it to the rest of the controls OK although never as fast as I wanted to be. If I could just quite making major errors on the one control per meet I would have decent times. Tania went with me and ran her first orienteering course. She did the Yellow course of 1.9K. She was going to do Orange afterward but had turned her ankle and it was bothering her, so she did not do the other course. She did seem to enjoy it was talking about how she found the controls just like orienteers do after meets.

Core 18:00 [3]

Morning abdominal workout followed by stretching and push-ups.

Running 26:07 [4] 3.1 mi (8:25 / mi)

Cold and windy run at lunch time. Did the Gateway loop near the office for first time in a few months. Seems like wind was in my face for 3/4 of the loop. But that is what wind does it just gets in your race no matter which way you're going. I'd rather be out in the real wind with real hills then on the treadmill.

Running 29:03 [4] 3.43 mi (8:28 / mi)

Run on treadmill. 5K program level 4. I made it through entire program without reducing the speed or hills. The max speed was 7.5 MPH. I actually increased the speed for some time thinking that might shorten the program. But, I found that no matter what speed I set it maintained the same distance covered. So, next time I'll start off on level 5 and see how far I can go. Level 5 goes up to 8 MPH.
