Orienteering race 2:03:36 [5] *** 6.1 km (20:16 / km)

Ran the Green course at QOC Greenbelt event. Big problems with control # 2 again. Took me 20 minutes when it should have been about 6 minutes. I had problems with control 2 at last event. I need to figure out how to get to the second control better! Had a few other major errors but ended up correcting myself and getting back on track. I had a few good legs where I placed in top 6 on splits. I was able to pass a lot of runners on the run-in after final control which felt good. Was out of shape from being sick lately and not maintaining a running program. It was a fun event with great weather for Feb 3 (sunny and mid 50s). No event scheduled for 4 weeks now. It's at Bowie which I ran last year and did not enjoy. The place is just covered with downed trees, slash and trash. Not a fun place to run.

Easy ride around Columbia. Need to take it easy on this first ride in three weeks. It was colder then I thought it would be with a cold breeze and I was a bit underdressed. I stopped and got a free newspaper and stuck it under my shirt, which helped a lot.

32 lengths during lunch break. Felt much better than the first swim two days ago when I felt like I was about to sink after 20 lengths. I was hoping the life guard was paying attention!

Pre-Core elliptical work-out. Did the cross country routine. This was pretty good workout on the peaks.

Did 30 laps at the fitness club during lunch. I'm going to add swimming as cardio workout twice a week.

Finally recovered from second cold of the season, well at least 95% recovered. Back to the morning abdnominal workout and stretching routine.

To the gym for workout on the elliptical trainer during lunch hour. Need to slowly get back into a cardio routine after over a week off with a very bad cold.

Weights 55:00 [3]

Andrew and I back to the gym for weight training. Andrew had the cold too and he's a little behind me in recovery. Good workout with giant sets of dumbbell flat bench press, incline bench press and one-arm rows. Then bicep and tricep curls. Finished off with pull-ups.
