Cycling 1:54:00 [4] 34.4 mi (3:19 / mi)

Road ride. Not as warm as yesterday. Lower 50s with light breeze. Same route as last Saturday, but in reverse. Great ride. I tried to pick up the pace a little.

Weights 45:00 [4]

Very intense legs and back workout. I went thru all the exercises with little rest between sets.

Running 43:00 [4] 4.75 mi (9:03 / mi)

Great run. Lots of hills where I was pushing the pace and then trying to keep a decent pace at the top of the hill.

Running 25:00 [3] 2.75 mi (9:05 / mi)

Dropped car off at the garage for an oil change then ran home. Took the "scenic route". Light rain but very nice temperature for running.

Core 18:00 [3]

Abs and stretching after the run.

Cardio 22:00 [5]

Rode the bike at the gym during lunch. StarTrac bike, "Alpine Pass" program on level 14 of 20. It was a tough workout!

Core 18:00 [3]

Morning core exercises and stretching.

Cardio 30:00 [4]

The CyBex machine at the gym. This is another one of those treadmill/stairmaster where you're swinging your legs in mid air, pumping your arms and going nowhere. Level 10 (highest level) Hill Interval program.

Weights 1:00:00 [3]

Great upper body workout.

Core 18:00 [3]

Morning abdominal workout followed by stretching.

Cycling 27:00 [3] 7.2 mi (3:45 / mi)

Bicycle to work. Another sunny day. Temperature about 30 F with no wind.

Cycling 38:00 [3] 7.5 mi (5:04 / mi)

Bike home from work. No mishaps today. I have wrecked and had a flat within the last two weeks. Rode around the offending mud slick that caused the flat yesterday. I think the mud caused some broken glass on the trail (just on the other side of the mud, by the way) to stick to the tire, then psssssh!!

Cycling 23:00 [4] 7.2 mi (3:12 / mi)

I was running late so had to put the hammer down on the way to work this morning. Also, the rare tail wind helped! I cleaned and lubed the drive train last night and I can really tell the difference. I removed a lot of gunk and it pedals much more smoothly now.

Cycling 38:00 [3] 7.5 mi (5:04 / mi)

Bike home. Ride was going great until I rode thru a mud slick and then flatted the rear tire. The trails in that part of town have a lot of mud and glass. Anyway, took about 10 minutes to change the tube and I was on my way again.

Weights 45:00 [3]

Legs and back workout tonight at the gym. I was really surprised that there were not any new people. Maybe not too a lot people are resolving to loss weight and exercise more this year.

Weights 50:00 [3]

Upper body workout today. Very good workout and hardly anyone at the gym this New Year's morning. That will change starting tomorrow when the New Year's Resolvers come in for their 7 days of training!
