Cycling (21.5) 1:08:00 [5]

Went for a road ride today. Tried to average 19 MPH for my loop around Tridelphia road. I finished with a 19.1 MPH average. I'm not sure that I have ever gone that fast before. Weather was great - sunny and low 70s. I was planning to go the the QOC King's Landing orienteering meet today, but had grass to cut and some other errands and the meet was about 2.5 hours away so didn't have time. Will need to wait for some closer meets.

Core 18:00 [3]

Back to the daily abs and stretching workout. I got lazy and missed the workout yesterday. It's raining hard this morning so will not be riding bike to work today.

Cycling 33:00 [3] 7.0 mi (4:43 / mi)

Bike in to work. A little cool out this morning and it's supposed to rain today. I've got my rain jacket ready.

Cycling 35:00 [4] 7.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Bike home from work. Predicted rain did not happen and it's another nice afternoon for riding. Lots of people out on the trails enjoying the cool, dry weather. Tried to push hard up the final climb.

Core 18:00 [3]

Daily abs and stretching.

Cycling 35:00 [3] 7.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Bike to work. Great ride. I did not go as fast as yesterday morning. Still, the times are improving with no noticable extra effort, so I must be getting in shape.

Cycling 35:00 [4] 7.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Bike home from work. Another great ride in very nice weather. It doesn't get any better!

Yoga 40:00 [2]

Have not done yoga for a few weeks. It is definitely helpful for flexibility and balance.

Core 18:00 [3]

Back to the morning abdominal and stretching workout.

Cycling 30:00 [5] 7.0 mi (4:17 / mi)

Back on the bike to commute to work. A very fine morning weatherwise. I went flat-out because I have not ridden for so long. I felt great and arrived 8 minutes earlier than usual. I did get all of the green lights and didn't have to stop once so that accounts for some of the quicker time.

Cycling 35:00 [4] 7.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Bike home from work. Good workout on the last climb.

Weights 40:00 [2]

Went to the gym with my son for weight training. Did 75 pound dumbbell bench press X 5 today. First time for that weight.

Hiking 4:30:00 [3] 7.2 mi (37:30 / mi)

Hiked Old Rag mountain in Shenandoah. This was first time on this much anticipated hike and I wasn't sure what to expect from the rock scrambling that I had heard about. It was a great hike! The rock scramble had a few tough spots for someone who has no rock climbing experience, but we all got over it. The view was awesome from the top. Did the loop route which follows a fire road back down the other side of mountain.
