Cycling 1:03:15 [3] 16.41 mi (3:51 / mi)

Bike to work on a gorgeous day.
6 AM

Insanity 36:30 [5]

Insanity Max Interval Plyometrics workout. I had to shorten this by about 18 minutes today so skipped over some of the toughest parts. Still a very good workout.
5 PM

P90X 1:10:30 [5]

P90X Chest, Shoulder and Biceps followed by Ab-Ripper. The Insanity workouts are really getting me into shape. I can now complete the 2 speed twitch push-ups which I have never been able to do. This is 4 fast push-ups followed by 3 8-count push-ups then repeat. I did 3 rounds. Sounds easy? Try it.

Insanity 59:49 [5]

After skipping a day for the first time other than for an injury I was back into Insanity. Did the toughest and longest workout today, Max Interval Circuit.

Insanity Core Cardio and Balance
12 PM

Cycling 1:53:44 [4] 34.68 mi (3:17 / mi)

Friday Jun 24, 2011 #

Cycling 1:05:41 [3] 17.98 mi (3:39 / mi)

Pedal to work and home on a wonderful warm and sunny summer day!
5 PM

Insanity 47:30 [5]

Insanity Max Cardio workout. I felt good at the beginning because I was already warmed up from the ride home. Almost quit with 20 minutes to go but kept going to 0:00. Very tough workout with lots of jumping and squats. The 3 Max workouts are all pretty much the same workouts but with different names.

Thursday Jun 23, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 48:00 [4]

Insanity Max Recover workout. Lots of stretching with some push-ups and core work.

Wednesday Jun 22, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 49:30 [5]

Insanity Max Plyo workout. This workout is so tough! I hung in there but had to pace myself and take some short breaks. It's just non-stop jumping and lots of push-ups.

Tuesday Jun 21, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 59:45 [5]

Insanity Max Interval Circuit. This is a long, tough workout. I had to stop a few exercises early by just a few seconds. Also was pacing myself.

Monday Jun 20, 2011 #

5 PM

Insanity 47:30 [5]

Insanity Max Cardio. Back to the workouts after resting my calf since last Thursday evening. Felt pretty good but had to pace myself some on this workout.

Thursday Jun 16, 2011 #

6 AM

Insanity 47:30 [4]

Insanity Max Recovery workout. This was a lot of breathing, stretching, core and push-ups. Also, squats and lunges to get the legs burning.
5 PM

Running 52:54 [5] 6.2 mi (8:32 / mi)

Run after work on a cool, overcast day. I kept better than an 8 minute/mile pace for the first 4 miles then as always on this course hit the wall in the last two miles as it turns up-hill. I felt this was a good run considering I have not been running for a few weeks. The Insanity workouts are really building up my cardio but I need to run more.

Wednesday Jun 15, 2011 #

6 AM

Insanity 47:20 [5]

Insanity Max Cardio Conditioning workout. This was just 32 minutes straight of cardio, plyometrics and resistance training with warm-up and cool down. There were short breaks while Shaun T demonstrated the exercise. I had to pace myself and end a few exercises early. I did keep going most of the time.
6 PM

Cycling 54:18 [4] 16.85 mi (3:13 / mi)

Quick road ride after work to take advantage of great weather. I felt pretty good and I think my average MPH was a little better than usual.

Tuesday Jun 14, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 54:30 [5]

Insanity Max Interval Plyo. I was taking plenty of breaks during this grueling workout. Lots of new moves.

Insanity 23:20 [5]

Insanity Fitness Test. This is day fitness test 3 of 5 (day 36). My improvement in numbers was not much from the last. This is probably typical that you get the most gain during the first few weeks then start to level off. However, the next 4 weeks are more intense so I think I'll see some bigger jumps at the next test.

Exercise Fit Test 1 / Fit Test 2 / Fit Test 3

Switch Kicks 54 / 63 / 64
Power Jacks 43 / 50 / 54
Power Knees 81 / 101 / 104
Power Jumps 39 / 44 / 49
Globe Jumps 9 / 11 / 11
Suicides 19 / 21 / 22
Push-Up Jacks 30 / 36 / 37
Low Plank Oblique 43 / 54 / 57

Insanity 59:59 [5]

Insanity Max Cardio Circuit. This was very, very difficult. I did this about 10 minutes after finishing the fit test. I stopped the exercises a few seconds short several times and was also pacing myself. I did make it thru the entire workout. The next four weeks will be a challenge, which is the way it should be.

Saturday Jun 11, 2011 #

Insanity 37:15 [4]

Insanity Core Cardio and Balance workout. Recovery week is over. Now I will get into 4 weeks of even longer and more intense Insanity workouts.

Insanity 46:15 [5]

Insanity Upper Body Weight Training workout. I decided to change up the recovery week routine and do one of the bonus workouts. This is a workout that is never on the calendar. Very good weight lifting workout that also hits core.

P90X 59:15 [3]

P90X Shoulders and Arms workout with Luisa. I'm barely breaking a sweat during this workout now thanks to Insanity workouts I have been doing.

Tuesday Jun 7, 2011 #

Insanity 37:30 [4]

Insanity Cardio Core and Balance. Recovery week workout that is not easy.

Monday Jun 6, 2011 #

Cycling 1:02:28 [3] 16.41 mi (3:48 / mi)

Pedal to work and home on a beautiful 80 degree and sunny day.
7 AM

Insanity 37:20 [4]

Insanity Core Cardio and Balance. This is the workout I do every day during the recovery week. It is not low impact and has a fair amount of cardio and jumping. We don't want to lose the fitness we have gained over the last 4 weeks. What it does have is short breaks between each exercise and the focus is not intensity.

Sunday Jun 5, 2011 #

10 AM

Insanity 41:30 [5]

Insanity Plyometrics Cardio Circuit. I felt pretty good doing this today. No slowing down or stopping at all.

Saturday Jun 4, 2011 #

Swimming 1:00:00 [2]

Swimming and surfing at Ocean City. It was a nice day at the beach with temps in low 80s and light breeze. Even the water was warm and lots of people were in. Usually it's too cold this time of year except for members of Polar Bear Club. The surf was not great because tide was going out but still I had a great time paddling around on my surf mat and catching what waves I could.

I had to miss the Insanity workout this morning because we headed out for the beach early in the morning. Plan to make it up tomorrow on what would normally be an off day.

Friday Jun 3, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 39:30 [5]

Insanity Pure Cardio workout. I made it all the way thru the cardio section with no breaks and only slowing down a little. This program is really working!

Thursday Jun 2, 2011 #

Cycling 1:06:11 [3] 16.42 mi (4:02 / mi)

Bike to work and home today. The wind was very gusty on the way home and almost brought me to a standstill at one point as I rounded a bend and went right into it.
6 PM

Insanity 33:15 [3]

Insanity Cardio Recovery workout. We hold the squats and lunges for a long time but they are a lot easier than the first time I did this workout.

Wednesday Jun 1, 2011 #

7 AM

Insanity 41:30 [5]

Insanity Cardio Circuit workout.
5 PM

P90X 55:00 [5]

P90X Chest, Shoulders and Back workout with Luisa. I was able to make it all the way thru the two speed twitch push-ups for first time. I think I was a few push-up short of Tony but I did keep going and did not have to stop. This is a very difficult move: 4 fast push-ups followed by 3 8-count push-ups, then repeat.
