running event (Run Forrest trail run) 2:25:44 [5] 21.1 km (6:54 / km)
shoes: Black innovates

Half marathon distance trail run on soft damp single track in the Forrest near the town of Forrest. These trails are more often travelled by mountain bikes. Lots of hills, so it was very tough. I was aiming for a decent time so I could use this as a qualifying half marathon for the Wonderland Trail Run in the Grampians in late August. I didn't quite make the required time of 2hrs 15mins, but trail runs are always slower than road half marathons.
This was an exhausting run. I hadn't trained for this event, and needed to walk up many of the hills (I walk fast) to save energy. Feet and leg muscles were sore...
Time is official. 8th in the over 50 age class (out of 23). Overall, 58th out of 135 women in the race.
