orienteering 1:20:25 [5] **** 5.4 km (14:54 / km)

Eureka Challenge, 1st State Series, Badge event. An early start meant the temperature while on the course was much better than yesterday. Today, at Mt Beckworth, the course was very physical on steep grades, but also very enjoyable. It was the right length for me today. Navigation wasn't as good as yesterday. Lost up to 5 mins on one control, and about 1 - 2 on another (standing on top of a rock while looking for the control 10m away!)

orienteering 50:53 [5] **** 4.1 km (12:25 / km)

Victorian relay event at Spring Gully, near Fryerstown. The map and terrain are wonderful for orienteering - complex gold mining. I really enjoyed the orienteering. It was very hot, and I ran with water, drinking 1 litre while out on the course. Couldn't run hard, just a steady jog. Generally pleased with my navigation; only ran past one control and lost 2 mins.

Street O event at Lake Weeroona. Missed only 2 controls, which is good for me - just ran steady for the hour; very enjoyable event.
