Hills / tempo session race 2:23:36 [5] 21.4 km (6:43 / km) +1200m 5:14 / km
Hobart's annual Point to Pinnacle - a big hill race! This run felt more like a marathon than a half marathon - I suppose if you include the effort that goes into the climb, then it would be more like a 34 km run.
This was a relentless hill. There were no downhill or level sections. Very glad to finish; had trouble continuing to run the whole way - in the end it was easier to stride it out with a hard walk.
Needless to say that Hanny won the womens' race - and set a record of 1hr 41mins. I don't know how she can sustain the effort for the whole mountain. Jo Anne came in 5th woman, with a time of 1 hr 54 mins. Very good effort! Anyway, with those two in our team, we won the womens' team category with prize money of $100 each!
