orienteering 1:52:00 [3] *** 11.5 km (9:44 / km)

Training session with a few people from Bendigo and Melbourne, near Castlemaine. Ran the first 6.3km course with Joanne - practicing explaining the route choice as we ran - alternating legs. Ran a further 5km afterwards to get my kms up for the weekend. Good running in lovely open forest.

orienteering 57:23 [4] *** 7.15 km (8:02 / km)

local orienteering event on the one tree hill map. It was great to be out in the bush again, but I was stopping to read my map! The contours seemed the same colour as the pen I'd drawn the course with. I also got disoriented on one leg, so maybe I'm seeking excuses for not being fast. Helped collect controls afterwards.

rode to & from work 53:00 [3] 18.0 km (2:57 / km)

Hot day to ride, but the teenager was away again -woopee!

Thursday Mar 22, 2007 #

run 27:13 [3] 5.0 km (5:27 / km)

Short run this morning on bitumen. Sore calf muscles after 4km.

Wednesday Mar 21, 2007 #

rode to & from work 52:00 [3] 18.0 km (2:53 / km)

Itt's great to get back on the bike, even if only occasionally - I've been supervising the teenager's driving lessons each morning for my commuting activity - it's nowhere near as enjoyable as riding.

run 46:25 [3] 7.85 km (5:55 / km)

A very dark 6am run in the rain. Needed a strong torch because I was running in the bush ( just wanted to imagine winter training in the northern hemishpere). Head torches in the rain tend to light up the rain more that the ground ahead. We've had so little rain that it was a joy and a delight to get soaked through.
