Intense! This was the hardest event all year so far for me. Was very happy with my running & navigating until control 15, then my brain went to mush and I messed up my navigation on the next 3 controls. My body stopped running after control 16.

Parkrun this morning; bit of a frost, so very cold, but it was sunny. Enjoyable run to start the weekend. Ilka came to her first Parkrun event, too.

Time trial at Lake Weeroona tonight: 5km in 24:14. That's a bit under 5mins/km. might have got a slightly faster pace if I didn't get a stitch on the last lap. There were only 3 runners tonight.

A group run with the Step into Life group. Set off from Kennington Res, and ran the powerline track, then back through Wildflower Drive map along the bitumen bike path. A steady hill all the way back to the top of Cousins St. Then ran 4 kms to collect others who ran the road back, and finished off around the lake. Beautiful day for a run - the sun was out, short sleeves and 3/4 pants for the first time in months!

Cardio session tonight, with some interval running (after a decent amount of jogging as a warm up), then some circuit work under the veranda; high risk of rain, but it didn't.

Road run with a small SIL contingent. I jogged to the lake, met them there, and jogged with them alomNg Barnard /Chum to Booth, then back to the lake. Only jogged some of the way home; gave up in Rosalind Park to walk the rest of the way home.

Short orienteering course at Black Jack Gully, near Harcourt. Went out again after my run to collect some controls. I found the course quite frustrating because of the quality of the map and because I think a couple of controls were in the wrong place.

Spend a couple of hours jogging around the Birds Reef area, checking control sites for the up-coming orienteering event. It's a lovely place to orienteering, and so close to the railway station.
