Orientshow at Mt Korong - Only did one race out of 3, but very slowly and was done in by the end. This showed my lack of fitness this year compared to previous years. I would love to regain my previous level, but unsure about how possible this is, given that this time any work on fitness is going to involve pain, when there's been very little in the past.

Steep hills on this map, and I was not running well or much at all. My sore, tight hamstrings are giving me a hard time of it. Going to folllow up Trollop's advice and enforce some agony - with a rolling pin (before I get the proper roller).

Note

I have been carefully stretching my hamstring muscle groups several times each day during the last week, and they are starting to feel less tight. This is contributing to my optimism.

Went for a run this morning, just very gentle, around our local streets. This lasted only 16:33. Still have quite tight hamstrings and a sore archilles tendon.

Note

Started out at 6:30am for a run, after spending 10mins doing the usual stretching and core exercises. From the start my achilles was tight and sore; after less than 12 minutes, something happened to my opposite hamstring, and I could no longer do anything resembling running. Walked home and felt every step during the day. Not happy :-(

State league event on the Chinamans Flat map, near Linton. This is a good map and enjoyed much of the terrain. I'm sorry to say that I made my classic errors today. These are:
1. on a long leg I tend to take inefficient route choices, and today even went off the map.
2. I get distracted when I see someone I don' t want to let pass me (even though that person will always pass me), so I run, and leave my brain behind.
The Trollop was very pleased to find out she had beaten Elf and me. Gotta get better at navigation!!!!!

Middle distance event on a new map near Smythesdale. Enjoyed it, but was very messy and therefore slow on several controls. I feel very old sometimes after running. There are many sore spots.....feet, achilles, hips...
