Local run on the roads, as it was getting dark. A lumbering stupid labrador decided to come along for the run, and it had no road sense - it was just running across the road in front of cars - and several of them stopped for it. Hope the drivers didn't assume I was the dog's irresponsible owner. Thankfully it didn't follow me all the way home.
First long run in my training for the Melbourne half on 7th October. Training starts today. Felt good, ran in the late afternoon along bush tracks near home. It was cold and drizzly all day - so very good for running.
Taking slightly longer route to and fr4om work these days, with more hill. It's not because of the training advantage, it's more because I am trying to avoid major roadworks.
Early morning run out on the roads of Maiden Gully. It was slippery running on iced up bitumen. Ice forced me to run flat-footed, unable to push off strongly or get an speed up, for fear of hitting the tarmac.
There was black ice on the highways and local roads this morning - many stories of vehicles slipping off the road.
Ran from work to Neil's work to pick up the car so I could get home. It was cold and raining. Ran alongside the Bendigo creek, to look at it flowing. I'm still not used to seeing much water around.
Second public race on this wonderful terrain. Very rocky - not steep, and a lot of fun. Navigation was ok - lost only a few minutes on a couple of errors.

NSW championships on the Tuckland Forest map. Spur gully with big escarpments. Made some significant errors. Went to 2nd control before the first, and seventh before the sixth. Quite tough terrain.
