Went out to Mosquito Creek to do more preparation for the event on 16 October. It was a fabulous spring day, and the flowers are fantastic. Did the long course and put out the last of the tapes.

orienteering 2:59:00 [4] 22.5 km (7:57 / km) +360m 7:22 / km

Three hour maxi event at Whroo, organised by Nilimbik Emus. Neil and I set out to complete an 18km course, planning to omit 7 of them. We were able to pick up 2 extra controls at the end of the 3 hours and just got in on time. Both exhausted, but Neil was able to mow grass after we got home. I couldn't do much at all - only ice my calf muscle, after it was corked by a solid stick which jumped out from Neil's feet as he ran in front of me. P'raps I shouldn't run behind him?

Melville Cave map - this was a wonderful event today - we had sunshine for our run, after the rain yesterday. Loddon River in flood - it was amazing to see it on the way to and from orienteering.
