long slow run race 4:00:00 [5] 19.7 km (12:11 / km)
Triple Top Mountain Run in Tasmania (Mt Claude, Mt Van Dyke, Mt Roland). This was hard - very sustained uphill for a couple of kilometres at the start and then trying to run along narrow mountain trails in beautiful undulating mountain terrain, followed by a long steep treacherous descent at the end. Quads and knees were screaming at the end. The views are amazing. This is an adventure race organised by the local Lions Club in Sheffield to showcase their lovely scenery. It is a well organised event, but there needs to be some control over the way people descend the steepest parts of the descent of Mt Roland.
I proved to be much less strong than I thought. I didn't feel like running after half way through and was only able to jog a few parts in the second half. My descent was very slow. I was tired and the balance was very tested.
