Extra walking done today because I had to attend the court for jury selection, and had second thoughts about my chosen clothing for the day. Walked home & grabbed 'business' clothes for court. Put them in the pack and got wet again walking into town. Changed into dry clothes and wet them with sweat due to the humidity and heat. It took nearly 3 hours for the selection of the 12 brave souls. The remainder of the day was spent trying to be useful at work; concentration was very difficult. I can't believe the amount of rain we are having!

Hageby orienteering - thanks to Jim for the good courses - 2 loops, but we all had the same legs to run. I'm slower than last year, particularly on the second loop. Very enjoyable; pity the competition both gave up!

Early morning run (for a Saturday) - quite enjoyed this one; it was one of Neil's scraplands routes.

Sprint distance course in bushland, with moderate navigation, but I still managed to miss visiting one control, and DNFed. It was a hot afternoon, and started out with a wet top (used cold water from a tap - very refreshing). When I got back it was dry.

It's darker in the early morning than a few weeks ago. After a weekend away when I was getting up early in Tweed Heads, I was fully awake at 6am. Silly really, because I didn't sleep well.

Set off with Neil to find the Bendigo bushland trail (Echidna signs). I think we found 2 of them, then no more - maybe we took a wrong turn or a few signs have been disappeared. Some of those tracks were pretty rough. I feel like I've had a workout.

Ran down to and around lake Weeroona, and mostly ran home, but stopped and walked 3 times near the tops of the steep hills. Pretty pathetic effort really.

Hooray! Orienteering again! This was the delayed fowl and fizz after it was cancelled yesterday with the Total Fire Ban. This was fun. I am very rusty on navigation - its been a long time since I have orienteered. I really don't have a clear idea of the distance travelled, but there's no way I covered more than 5.7km.

Did the double res run from crusoe with a dip in the water afterwards. A good end to a day driving to and around Melbourne helping Ceira with purchasing a car.

We did some large hills around Bendigo on this run after work on Friday - certainly didn't feel like a run at this time, but I perked up enough to walk into town for tea afterwards (not enough to cook dinner though).
