Went running at number 7 & Crusoe Park this morning. Ran a slow double circuit of both reservoirs. Felt the endorphins kick in a little after an hour of jogging and that helped me to get through the last part of the distance I'd set for myself. It's a long time since I have felt that, and it wasn't as intense as I have previously experienced.

Attempted ride to work. The alarm was set for 5:15am, but it didn't go off. Woke at 5:55. Left home at 6:10am, rode to Lansell Plaza where the 3 riders met. Headed off down the highway, pushed up Big Hill and was rewarded with a flat rear tyre on the top of the hill. Stopped half way down the hill and changed the tube. The replacement tube had a bubble which wouldn't settle. Penny rode back to her 4WD parked at Lansell and Chris had to ride on to meet another colleague at Harcourt (who didn't show up). Penny popped our bikes in the vehicle and drove us to Castlemaine.

Big tone up session with resistance bands, with increasing reps of push ups, shoulder presses, bicep curls, triceps extensions, side planks, lunges, static and pulsing squats, etc, etc... I feel like I've had a hard workout!

Lovely morning for a run in the fast terrain at Crusoe. It was a hagaby style event and we had two loops, with people having different loops with variations. Quite pleased with my run.

Sprint orienteering event this evening at Kangaroo Flat. I ran the whole race, but took a couple of longer route choices and made a mistake on control 10 (confused with hexagonal buildings - I only saw one and went to the wrong one).

Went riding into town then out to Kangaroo Flat to pick figs, then home later we rode to KF to participate in an orienteering event.

Cardio session on a very hot day; it was 38 degrees when I parked the carat Step into Life. Mick took us to the lake where there was a cooler breeze coming over the water, and we spent the hour with the big rope, punching bags, push ups, little jogs, etc. It was quite good fun - much better than running in 38 degrees! It was a good upperlimb workout session.

Long slow training 2 return runs along Rogers Lane, Dederang. Downhill to the highway, all uphill on the return run. Phew - it was tough.

Went to the 6:15am session and it was a fitness evaluation. Ran a 2km time trial in 9:12, which was quite good for me. Managed a BP with 16 x 20m sprints in 90secs at the end of the session. Other activities: 15 full push ups in 1min (last time I did 17); 32 squats with 2 x 4kg weights in 1min; 28 situps in 1min; 2min plank; 31 lateral press with 4kg weights.

Early Sunday morning score event on a nicely re-mapped version of Diamond Hill (Golden Gully is its new name). I chose to run on only half of the map, so when I got back very early had no option to go out and collect any more controls. A nice way to remember a bit of navigation again.
