SWOA sprint champs MORNING - couldn't get up to top speed as the course was very well planned and hence very technical.

Made a 20sec mistake on 16 and a few other errors but was leading by 10 seconds after the morning race.

To and from the Weir for some swimming and sunbathing. Got a puncher on the way back which was rather a faff.

Still feeling the effects of the weekends cold so didn't push it too hard untill the last 4 controls.
Navigation was clean, didn't take the fastest route on a couple of occasions

Springtime in Shropshire Middle Distance
Still feeling quite ill but thought I might as well race.
Didn't read map correctly on No. 2 and went up the main reentrant and not the small one. (1min lost)
Also came too high on 3 and got confused (1 min lost)
Was slow going up and down to 4 but should have been more confident as my navigation was bang on.
Fairly clean through 5 to 12. Kept coming a little to high or low on a few but not bad.
Coming out of 12 had planned to go up and over to 13 but ended up on the wrong path at the bottom of the hill and was confused and lost 30 seconds and lost the guy I was running with (Stan Heep?).
Was clean into 14 and caught back up but then proceed to completely messed up 15 (coming off path too early).
After the mess up at 15 I was feeling pretty ill so took it fairly easy to 16 and 17 (also made a mistake) then pushed to 18 and the finish.

All in all I'm very happy with the performance considering how ill I was feeling and the poor errors I made.

I absolutely loved the area and learnt a lot from the course.
