Springtime in Shropshire Middle Distance
Still feeling quite ill but thought I might as well race.
Didn't read map correctly on No. 2 and went up the main reentrant and not the small one. (1min lost)
Also came too high on 3 and got confused (1 min lost)
Was slow going up and down to 4 but should have been more confident as my navigation was bang on.
Fairly clean through 5 to 12. Kept coming a little to high or low on a few but not bad.
Coming out of 12 had planned to go up and over to 13 but ended up on the wrong path at the bottom of the hill and was confused and lost 30 seconds and lost the guy I was running with (Stan Heep?).
Was clean into 14 and caught back up but then proceed to completely messed up 15 (coming off path too early).
After the mess up at 15 I was feeling pretty ill so took it fairly easy to 16 and 17 (also made a mistake) then pushed to 18 and the finish.

All in all I'm very happy with the performance considering how ill I was feeling and the poor errors I made.

I absolutely loved the area and learnt a lot from the course.

Came down with a rather unpleasant cold overnight so after arriving at the event decided it was best not to run today.
I'm a bit upset to have made the decision but hopefully it might allow me to run the middle tomorrow (with fresher legs than the other competitors?!)

Spring time in Shropshire Urban
Generally a pretty good run.

2 small 20-30sec errors on 10 and 21

Big error was on 14. Control was on lower level but I ran up onto the bridge. (1.5min lost). I think the control description was wrong on this control as it was at the base of a wall but the description said south side of fence. Not an excuse for getting it wrong but certainly didn't help.

Short run around the village taking down Brexit Party signs displayed on public property.

Legs felt aweful.


No Planks today due to hip-flexors and quads feeling rubbish

MLS relay Champs- Long Leg

One mistake on 6. Saw a control from someone else's gaffle and got confused. Should have had more confidence as I was perfect on line for my control. Instead I relocated off the path and lost 1-2mins

May have also lost 30sec on the final control by coming into woods too soon and getting slightly disorientated.
