Orienteering 1:17:04 [4] ***
Saylor park, Co Springs, Green course
First orienteering event of the season!! (if i don't count the kiddie course i setup at the youth camp and the AR that robby did all the work).
luckily, the altitude slowed me down so much (to a walk, and a sit down on occasion) that my fogged out orienteering skills could catch up with my "running" speed. i never had such a bad altitude issue, was dizzy before i left, during the event... and after (well, after the beer might have added a bonus).
I mostly "nailed" everything, except for no 3 (a bunch of rocks). I looked at my garmin route, and it seems like as soon as i hit the rockage, i deviated to the right, instead of left... and there went 10 min or so. whihc did not matter much cause i was not sprintin it either. oh, 1 was a bobble too, cause I have fobia of going close to start so i deviated right, could not believe the marsh was the marsh, so i crossed it... and finally realized that yes, that was the marsh and got to the control pretty easy.
good orienteering "tailgating", great company and awesome chicken mole enchilada! yum!! too much though, my tummy was inflated for hours :)
