ahr:159 max:186 shoes: Mizuno Wave Hayate

Easy run, wasn't planning on running at all this weekend but the shins felt ok. Little bit sore after but good to see they're still intact after a big week. Mizuno's really no longer doing the business on the mud and I feel like a lot of strain is going through my calves / Achilles, so could potentially be almost time for an early substitution..

Corrida em Malvao. Stunning castle village and a decent sprint with a fair bit of complexity. Couldn't really get the HR up due to having to constantly be reading the bloody map (classic orienteering eh). Went into the wrong garage at one point and three wrong RCs but overall a pleasing performance. Did get spudded however

Nice to go back to the scene of last night's events and actually do some map reading this time. Fairly solid control, just a couple of unsure bits and a couple of times getting stuck in the bushy.
And that wraps up a great week's training in Portugal and my first 100km rolling week since records began (isn't that cute). The shins are feeling sore, but still under control. We'll see how they recover. Now for a weekend of rest before the grind continues.

Long training. Caught Kaarel, nav going pretty smoothly, then lost my sanity a bit after 13km and made a huge mess of 26, don't think I ever found it. Good to get round in one piece.

Much happier with this training, just cruising along but focusing 100% on planning what I was going to see and looking up for it. Pretty much clean apart from 1 slight 10s miss. Now time to do the same at full speed this afternoon.

A little bit higher effort than this morning, and made a few small misses but if was a much trickier area, some real rock detail. Caught Anton and went round behind him the second the half, but was in control and able to pounce when he made a mistake teeheehee

Sprint round town, very shit technical performance. Just didn't find time to read the map when I could, and there were a lot of steep alleys where you couldn't read the map so I ended up getting confused at a lot of junctions. Got better in the second half but had lost a fair amount of time.

Pretty frustrating night mass start. Got caught behind a huge herd of cows to 1 and then fucked it to 1 and 3 as well, so was never even in the pack. Was better from there but direction was dodge to 6 and spent too long standing at 11 looking for the missing tape . Good fun though

ahr:163 max:184 shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 225

More tasty terrain today, bit the same as yesterday with a scrappy af start, overtaken by spud and then trying not to follow him.

Fastest terrain yet, so so good. Cruising at the middle level but then made a mess of a few in the middle section.
