running warm up/down (Wu) 6:43 [1] 0.34 km (19:42 / km)

Yay , back at Cambus !! Love it. Ground was nice and frosty so bogs / marshes were a pleasure.
Came prepared (almost) today with my thermal , gloves and headband, forgot control description holder though.
Nice big long leg to c6 , took the more left option along the Cambus canter track by the power lines then peeled off to pick up the ride that continues all the way up the slope to where the control was with a ton of boulders crags and green surrounding it. Was happy with route and was pretty quick but annoyingly from the way I came into control circle from above was tricky to spot control in mass of boulders so lost time a bit there.
Tragic nav to c7 . Was with Ellie so there was not enough map checking and too much speeding it down the slope. Dropped to much to quickly , both thinking we’d reached the ride junction near the control already but actually had gone like only half way . Milled about for a while confused then spotted a chunk of dark green , realised where I was , felt very silly and carried on to the control. Lost a good bit of time annoyingly.
Rest of course was all fine , got pretty fast as ended up in a train of blue runners but nav was solid.
Finished and straight for a cookie from scotjos :))

running warm up/down (Wd) 1:39 [1] 0.27 km (6:03 / km)

running (To the Dee ) 22:13 [3] 3.78 km (5:53 / km) +37m 5:36 / km
ahr:155 max:188

Good old favourite. Couldn’t resist a quick run across the road to the Dee from the house. Not long as was getting dark but felt good to be back in my favourite woods. So peaceful and quiet. Missed it.
No swim in the river this time though , summer has passed :((

orienteering race (Uni champs relays ) 19:50 [5] 3.02 km (6:34 / km) +39m 6:10 / km
ahr:161 max:177

Nice to be back in some yummy deeside terrain , always love a some scolty action.
Ran the middle leg (orange) for the fully maroc GUOC team with John on first and Luke on 3rd leg. Funny, none of us are even in Glasgow uni.
Set off in 6th ??? I think. Freezing cold , bad idea to go out in short sleeves and no thermal :((
Was close to making a mistake at one point which would have been pretty embarrassing on a orange course, was heading way to far up a slope but luckily realised in time to correct it and stop climbing.
Overtaken by Zoe just near the end , cam back in 3rd so managed to catch a few places.
Stirling just proved to speedy for euoc and GUOC , taking the overall win. Luke came back 4th so very good day for the last minute “Glasgow uni” team .
Snowy walk up to the tower after with E and L, didn’t feel like any more running after such an intense race

Planned for some hill intervals, weak turn out from the orienteers, only 4 of us with little motivation on such a chilly and dark night . Went on a head torch run along the kelvin instead.

some easy Monday miles. Ditched the shorts for the first time !!! Finally it’s got too cold and the trimtex leggings came out . Can’t say that the shorts won’t make a come back soon though :)) knee - again a bit achy at start but within a couple mins totally fine . Very chilly tonight so guess that might be why it takes some time to warm up
