Aboyne hill race route FAIL for the DR lockdown champs.
No use in taking a map when it falls out your pocket 2km in to the run :(( had never ran this route before so thought id be prepared and take map for once....oops.
Took a left turn too early so got very confused. Got back to the bridge and just went for a jog round the green waiting on Eilidh to get back from her run.
Might have another go on Tuesday before June ends and Scolty is next!

Quick afternoon run just to wake up a bit and go with F to meet SC for their run. Was just gonna go to the edge of the meadows and back, but legs felt really good, much better than this morning. So added an extra km down to Cameron Toll.

Quick 5k round the meadows- legs felt pretty energetic and good but thought I’d just have a small day considering how they felt yesterday up hill of fare. Bit of a recovery day.
Came up to Edinburgh yesterday to keep Frank the Hamster and Finn company. Let’s hope a couple weeks on a fair bit of tarmac doesn’t do too much damage. Achilles felt a bit tight but no pain on this run through the knees or ankles :))
Walked up the seat last night for the summer solstice sunset, had my normal Hoka trainers on but got a pain in my left foot arch, used to get it a lot when I was younger when we went on long walks, thinking about getting insoles for my trainers, might help my knees a bit too as my feet have always naturally rolled in.

Legs felt pretty good actually, Hammy’s are tight but apart from that knees felt fine, no pain on downhills. Rolled them out a bit before and after so should be all fine.

Fave route up Meikle tap to the mast then took the lower track to craigrath and back on the high track and down the way the hill race goes up. Had 4K to go and decided to try get under 2hrs after kinda doddling at the start. Kind wrecked myself on the down hill but felt great to be at almost race pace again ahah lols. Was a fun way to spend my morning , 10/10 views with thick fog, felt like I was in a cloud. Knees were a sore on downhills and Achilles on up but nothing too bad (2/10 probably for both)
Poor garmin 235 on its last legs :(( kept freezing and pausing then not starting again for ages

Knees both pretty sore on the downhills, the cold didn’t help, felt like they never warmed up. Totally fine on up hills and flats and legs feel strong except what goes up must come down...
