Orienteering race 45:26 [4] *** 5.5 km (8:16 / km)
19c (sick)

Oceania Middle Champs, Racecourse Creek (near Beechworth).
11th place. Very tired, couldn't back up at all from yesterday. Lost 1.5mins trying to find a compulsory fence crossing between 4 and 5, but other than that I just struggled to move. Nice little course though.

And that was my last run for 2019. Am now in the fourth month of pregnancy and don't feel like running any more :)

Oceania Long Champs, Kangaroo Crossing.
Felt tired and sick so my aim was to not worry about racing and just focus on nav and map contact. I certainly looked at my map a lot more than usual and read everything, often taking slightly safer routes to avoid a lot of detail. I was mostly happy with my three big route choices and only made a mistake / got confused coming into c5 losing 1.5mins. I was the first starter so had a long wait but was stoked to finish in 3rd, less than a minute behind Tash in second. It was fun to do a super challenging, tough course.

Orienteering race 45:45 [4] *** 5.75 km (7:57 / km)

Oceania Relay Champs, Split Rock.
ACT team with Jo first, me second and Kathie third.
Jo had a great run on 1st leg and I set off just ahead of a couple of other state teams with the NZ and Aus teams a little way ahead. I had a pretty good/clean run with just some trouble pin-pointing c17 in the circle. I may have even lost up to a minute trying to get to it as I could see the camera man and knew it must just be below me somewhere. I don't think I did c1 that well either. I came back still a fair way behind the two "national teams", then Kathie had a good run on third leg, only overtaken by the very reliable Vanessa, to bring us home into 4th. Another really fun course on a super area, which seemed like a new map at 1:10000!
