Orienteering race 1:05:13 [4] *** 7.2 km (9:03 / km)
8c

NSW Long Champs at Snow Hills.
Such fun terrain! The low-vis areas and subtle contour detail made for much tricker orienteering than your typical Aussie spur-gully.
I got sucked into a Bermuda Triangle on my way to c1 AND c5, losing 3 and 4 mins respectively to the fastest splits. It was quite hard in places to stay on line, and I nearly went wrong a few other times. Generally though, I was fine going into all of the controls :D Finished 4th, 3mins behind the winner Michele.

Running 2:00:00 [3] 15.7 km (7:39 / km)

From the Namadgi visitors centre to Honeysuckle Creek via Bushfolds Flat and Booroomba Rocks carpark. It was a lovely run and the conditions were perfect; sunny but cool. Trying to pick some net up-hill runs so this one was good with a 42min climb up half of Mt Tennent to start. Knees were sore later in the run but looked after them as best I could.

Around the side of Mt Taylor and up the NW rocky path. Down the zig-zags. So it actually gets dark by 7.30 I now know... got lost on the way down in the dark haha!

Orienteering race 49:08 [4] *** 6.1 km (8:03 / km) +200m 6:55 / km

Easter Day 3 at Foxlow Flats (same arena as Day 2).
Felt really mentally and physically tired before this run so was very happy with the end result considering. Good route choice leg to c1 and I got a good split going right and around the green. Only 12 controls with the last four in view of the finish so not so many chances to stuff-up. I exited badly out of c7 and headed too far right on the way to c8 which was unnecessary and cost a bit of time, another small banana too far left when running out of c8 to the road. The rest was fine and I pushed hard, so pleased to get 4th on the day.

All up a good weekend of racing and happy to finish 7th overall and a minute or so off 5th. Really pleased for Jo who dominated and was a well-deserving winner.
Hopefully I can get some good health back over the next month and do a bit of decent training!
