Running 50:00 [3] 6.65 km (7:31 / km) +294m 6:09 / km

Florence and her posse dropped me off at the start of the Truganini Track in Sandy Bay and I was to meet them at the end of Marieville Esplanade in an hour or so's time. I set off up the track and was at the Mt Nelson signal station 20mins later. Then down XYZ Rivulet (I found out it's called Bicentennial Park!), down through Lambert Park, across to Sandy Bay Rd and around the foreshore to the meeting place (playground). Pretty much all on tracks which was cool.

From Risdon Brook Dam, up over the hill to the north of the dam in front of Grasstree Hill, up the spur a bit then back down the valley to the far end of the dam. Continued on around the dam and included a ~3min effort. Had my thermal with me today!

A 35 degree day in Hobart for Christmas, so we headed to the beach!

Running 41:00 [3] 5.09 km (8:03 / km) +462m 5:32 / km

I got dropped off at the top of Old Farm Rd behind the Cascades and ran up Myrtle Gully to Junction Cabin then along to the Springs via the Lenah Valley Track. 21min to the hut and 39mins at the end, but I jogged back a little bit to meet Mum and Daisy. The Myrtle Gully track is one of the nicest tracks on the mountain, but maybe doesn't get much traffic because it's best when done as part of an end-to-end. Saw a baby echidna, a couple of pademelons and had a close encounter with a tiger snake (it wasn't that bothered by me luckily!).

Orienteering 35:00 [3] *** 2.7 km (12:58 / km)

Up at 6am for packing, cleaning and our journey down to Hobart, arriving a bit after 1. In the evening we had a BBQ at the Waterworks with a couple of other families and my Dad had set an orienteering course (with flags!) for any willing BBQ attendees. I felt I had better do it :) Dad tried to make it as steep and as tough as possible so it was a good workout.

Running 29:00 [3]

Did the T on Mt Taylor. This is what I do when I want to run some flat but can't be bothered running all the way around the hill. Up to the ditch, along the ditch one way, turn around, along the ditch the other way, turn around, back down the way I came.
