Ventured into Blaise.... usual loop through there, then iron bridge, triangle around KW House, iron bridge, KW Hill, home. Think it was -3 when I went running at 3pm. At least the mud was frozen! :D
Matt and I organised a local orienteering event at Ashton Court. So of course it had to be the coldest day of the winter so far.... with the area covered in a thin layer of frozen snow. I put some controls out and collected some back in again (2hrs+ but includes much standing while thinking about control sites and slow jogging with stakes). Lots of standing around freezing at registration in between. Tim helped collect some controls in and made my loop much shorter, cheers!
I think those who braved the cold morning had a good time so it was a success! :)
Had the usual "issues" getting away from work, then sped home and down to B&W AC session. Was a bit late but Chris was there and I set off on the 4km loop alone..... hoping I was only a couple of mins behind the rest. Forgot to take a split on my watch at the start. Then took a wrong turn, tried to correct but got stuck in a warren of dead-end streets. So annoying. Had to run through the graveyard to get back onto the 2nd half of the loop. Finished.... the group was then meant to be doing intervals on the rugby pitches.... I couldn't find the god damn rugby pitches (maybe I didn't try that hard) and so I went home. Wasn't feeling the love tonight.
Golden Balls - Downs - home.
My ankle was a bit sore at the end - the ankle that got properly damaged at stupid Jukola and now has permanent scar tissue etc. Tweaked it again a week ago in the forest so it's flared up a bit...
