Orienteering race (British Middle Champs) 41:05 [4] *** 5.3 km (7:45 / km) +150m 6:47 / km
30c shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

On 'Cademan and Thringstone Woods'.
3rd place behind Sarah and Rachael. Really good race for most of it. Lost 40secs at c23 and about 50secs bashing through some green into c27. I was concentrating really well but lost it a bit near the end which was a shame. I didn't focus on the running so much today, and really enjoyed all the short legs and heaps of controls! :)

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Warm-up before, and a cool-down with Piret after.

Orienteering race (British Sprint Champs) 14:10 [5] *** 2.6 km (5:27 / km) +45m 5:01 / km
18c shoes: Asics Trail Attack

Womens Heat A, The University of Nottingham.
Pretty good run. Clean through the controls and running fairly hard. 22secs down on Pippa and 50secs clear of 3rd (top six into the final).

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering race 17:11 [5] *** 2.6 km (6:37 / km) +60m 5:56 / km
18c shoes: Asics Trail Attack

Sprint Final, on a different part of the Uni campus.
6th place. It wasn't a very good sprint for me. Was ok through the first half but then didn't use (see on the map) a little gap that I kinda needed to use three times so that slowed me down a lot as I ran around all three times. My running speed dropped in this 2nd race also. 2mins down on the leaders. Fun map though and good area for a sprint.

Running 41:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack

The first little bit with Matt down to Roundhay castle, then I headed out on my own to Shadwell and did a lap via Hobberley Lane. Cute little village is Shadwell. Maybe they will have a fete soon and I can by some jam.
Back via the other path. Lacking energy today.

Note

26 sit-ups. Trying to fix my sore back which is a result of my chair at work. My chair doesn't allow good posture!

Orienteering 15:44 [5] ** 3.1 km (5:05 / km) +65m 4:36 / km
13c shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Sprint event at Peel Park.
A lot nicer than last week! But nothing too tricky....
Various groups of deros nicked a number of controls, and I just couldn't help getting so mad, so many fuckin bogans out there. Well we were in Bradford after all.

Running 20:00 [2]

10mins warm-up with Matt, and a cool-down collecting some controls. Rather we visited all the control sites but there weren't any controls to collect. Luckily 3 coppers on motor bikes rocked up and we set them on to the chavs. Mildly amusing watching them run away as the police approached dropping all of the flags as they went....

Might have an easy week with the races on the weekend. Will try and do a good block of training after that.

Running 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

A recovery run that didn't help me recover at all, I was screwed! Ran with Matt from the Golden Acre park, to a pond, across some fields with a million bleating lambs (they were pretty cute), more paths, past some scary cows and back to the car. So tired. It was raining as well.
