Orienteering race (Delamere Regional Event) 1:07:30 [4] *** 8.3 km (8:08 / km) +125m 7:34 / km
20c shoes: o-shoes

Ran hard but was a bit scrappy. Lost a minute or 2 at c4 - ran to a control, not mine, but didn't relocate off the feature quick enough (this other control was in my control circle).
And then on the way to c11 I got buzzies on one of my gloves. Tried to get them off with the other hand then both were covered in buzzies! Had to take gloves off and tuck em into my trousers.... then by the time I looked back at my map I'd run over 200m too far along a track, doh! Lost 1.5mins - had to back-track...
I enjoyed it.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Jog to the start, and a bit of a cool-down with Matt. S-s-s-s-sooo cold.

Note

It is a shame the Cambridge event has been called off this weekend (although for good reason). I was looking forward to it, and I was looking forward to seeing Cambridge!

North loop. Bit cold tonight.

Running (snowy streets, pm) 20:00 [4]
shoes: o-shoes

Did the West-then-South loop. Finished the 20mins at the same corner I always finish my 20mins of 90/30 intervals.

Running 20:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

10mins before and after. The snow didn't slow me down as I usually do this loop in 40-41mins, but I am getting sore calves from the shoes and having to push off from my toes a little harder than normal.

Running (snow) 48:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

Through Roundhay Park via The Carriage Dr to the A58, up Elmete Lane to Shadwell and back along Park Lane. I'd say I'd like the snow to melt so I could do a faster run but then it would all turn into mud and slush so it's a no-win situation.

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

My office closed just before 4 so we could all drive home before getting snowed in. I didn't argue with that.
Ran (in the light!) through the woods in Roundhay park. Bit of a winter wonderland in there, very pretty.
