Orienteering race 1:56:36 [4] **** 10.5 km (11:06 / km) +515m 8:55 / km
31c shoes: o-shoes

World Cup Long, Norway.
Was feeling tired from the beginning, even on the jog to the start, so was a bit worried about what was to come. Chasing start based on Friday's race. Started ok but a train of (6?) girls ran through me and dropped me by the time I got to the butterfly loops. Made 3 mistakes in these loops (I don't have a good track-record with butterfly loops(!?)). Then I was quite alone except for the odd male as they started to come through now. Continued on for the next 10 controls to the spectator control where I picked up my third map. The terrain was fun but I wasn't enjoying it as much because I was tired and thought I might be the last girl in the forest! Did the last loop to finish 34th (out of 40!) in just under 2hours - my longest orienteering race ever I would have to say. Generally orienteering ok once out of the butterfly loops, but I'm sure lost time here and there on top of my slow running. But I finished!!!!!!!!!! And it was all good experience, well that's what people tell me anyway :)

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Jog from pre-start to start.

Orienteering race 45:44 [4] **** 4.7 km (9:44 / km) +280m 7:30 / km
shoes: o-shoes

World Cup 4, Norway.
My run wasn't too bad. Steady to the first 2 controls, then I did the long leg to c3 quite well. Then some short legs and I caught a couple of girls at c5 and they missed c6 so I ran away to c8, but exited badly without looking at my compass and had to correct quite a bit on the longish leg to c9 which lost a bit of time (1min?). I got quite tired later in the course and wasn't concentrating as well, so did a banana to c16 and then lost a minute or so on c17 because I got sidetracked by some cliffs that were on the ground but weren't on the map. So, I would have been really happy with my run if not for c17 because it was one of the easier controls. Still I think I handled the new terrain fairly well. 24th place.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Running intervals 30:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

I didn't have the mental energy to go running but luckily Coach Craney got me out of the house and did my intervals session with me (in front of me) and was time-keeping and everything :) 90secs/30recovery. Up Rivelin, nice in the evening sun.

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

To Rivelin, and back through the streets at the end of the session.
