Orienteering race 46:10 [4] *** 5.6 km (8:15 / km) +210m 6:57 / km
22c shoes: o-shoes

Regional Event at Brimham Rocks.
I enjoyed the first half of the course, on an open area with lots of rock detail. Lost a bit of time at c3 (went to wrong rock) and lost 1min at c17 (was close but couldn't find the depression in all the heather). Bad exit direction out of 3 controls. Running across the marshy heather was really hard going!! My ankles were taped but on the way to c2 the tape came loose and my ankles were rolling every which way in the vegetation. I enjoyed (most of) it though and I hope to keep up orienteering at least once a week.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Warm-up (didn't fancy cooling down after).

Running 47:00 [3]

Outside Sheffield on some windswept moorland with Matt. The wind was terrible but after 20mins we were out of the worse of it. It was a shorter run than planned I think but the last 20mins was quite nice.

Running 36:00 [4]
shoes: New sneakers

Some intervals at the Chase, 12 x 2mins (1min easy). Stuck to big paths, had a map but had to go off the map for a while and then found it hard getting back onto the map again (because I didn't know where I was).

Running 16:00 [3]

10mins before and 6 after.

Running 42:30 [2]

Around Sheffield streets with Rachael and Matt. I was wearing plenty of layers so was able to enjoy the run.

Running intervals 15:00 [5]
shoes: Runners - old

At Rowley Park athletics track in Stafford with Matt. I did a set of 800m off 4.30. It was zero degrees (and I'm actually not exaggerating) so I was not in the mood for intervals and didn't get in the mood after 5 warm-up laps. Legs felt a bit stiff.

I'm looking forward to doing intervals with others next time.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Around the track warming up (trying to) with my trusty training partner Matt.

Running 1:08:30 [3]

Nice run with Matt on the Chase outside Stafford. It is nice running in a completely different environment to Canberra, but I must stay it was very cold today. I'm sure it won't be like this for long!?
