Orienteering race 1:04:17 [4] *** 8.9 km (7:13 / km) +265m 6:17 / km

District orienteering event, "Abraham's Valley" (Cannock Chase).

I ran the Brown course and had a nice run. I felt pretty comfortable with the map and it didn't seem that different to some areas I've run on on the mainland of Oz. The sun came out today!

Running 1:07:00 [3]

With Rach and Helen W.
Derwent Edge (Peak District). Cloudy and cold but very scenic all the same.

Running 43:00 [4]

Today was another drizzly, cold, dark day. The locals tried to tell me that this has been a particularly bad(wet) week, the worst all year in fact. "yeah sure guys! Nice try". I don't think I will complain about Hobart weather anymore.

So I went for a run at Rivelin with Matt and I suppose once I got going it was pleasant and refreshing.

Orienteering 1:19:00 [4] *** 9.3 km (8:30 / km) +330m 7:13 / km

Orienteering on the map 'Burbage' outside Sheffield in the Peak District. Rach and I both ran the W21E course used for a recent national event held there.

I found running across the moors really tough. And the weather seemed to get worse and worse as I went round the course... it was SO windy and SO cold. How do people train in this? I am beginning to realise just how soft I am...

Orienteering 37:13 [4] 5.3 km (7:01 / km)

I did a night race/training session on a map of a section of Sheffield. It was a good turn-out (15-20 people) and I enjoyed it quite a bit... my second ever night-O!

Orienteering 55:00 [3] 5.3 km (10:23 / km)

I ran a course on the map 'Loxley Common' just outside Sheffield. It was wet and misty, but I still enjoyed it.
