Running 1:13:00 [3] 12.22 km (5:58 / km)

Yet another end to end, this time running over Cooleman Ridge briefly before heading to Tuggeranong Town Park via McQuoids Hill and Urambi nature park. Didn't enjoy it. Coffee and lunch at Brew Bar after was good though.

Saturday Jan 28, 2017 #

6 PM

Running intervals 46:30 [4] 9.58 km (4:51 / km)

From O'Malley around Isaacs, Farrer and Southlands to home doing 5 x 5mins (2mins rec). Hot hot hot!

4 PM

Running 50:00 [3] 9.53 km (5:15 / km)
weight:59.1kg

Got dropped off at Kambah Pool and ran to Pine Island North where Matt and Florence were swimming in the river. Florence LOVES water so much. Fairly uneventful run but saw an echidna which is always a bonus.

Tuesday Jan 24, 2017 #

8 AM

Running intervals 41:30 [5] 8.6 km (4:50 / km)

Morning run from work - around the circle on the bush path then 6 x 3mins (1min) around Yarralumla, Nara Peace Park and foreshore to Bowen Park then jogged back to work. Couldn't get into fifth gear but still put the effort in, was pretty spent by the end.

Monday Jan 23, 2017 #

6 PM

Running 37:00 [3] 6.82 km (5:26 / km)

Saturday Jan 21, 2017 #

2 PM

Running 48:30 [3] 6.57 km (7:23 / km)

Up Te Mata Peak again with Piret, Tessa and Liis. We did the red loop clockwise, it was nice! And we beat Matt and Kerrin up the Peak :P

Friday Jan 20, 2017 #

12 PM

Running 55:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:53 / km)

Staying in Havlock North - morning run up Te Mata Peak. Quite steep and I found a few places where you wouldn't want to take a stumble coming down! At one point a little girl ran with me for about half a km and we had a chat.

In the afternoon we headed to a winery for Piret and Bryn's wedding!

Thursday Jan 19, 2017 #

Note

Up at 4am to travel to NZ, so that meant 3.5hrs sleep. I think it could be a long day!

Wednesday Jan 18, 2017 #

Ran home from the back of Lyons.

Tuesday Jan 17, 2017 #

12 PM

Running intervals 31:00 [5] 6.62 km (4:41 / km)

Lunchtime run (two bridges) squeezed in between meetings. Ran 3 x 1km with 2mins recovery, 4.05, 3.53, 4.03. Was so tough. It was 30-something degrees and I was properly cooking. Good to get it done though.

Monday Jan 16, 2017 #

8 PM

Running 30:00 [3] 4.16 km (7:13 / km)

This was a late one up Mt Taylor after consuming a lot of food at Belluci's and half a bottle of wine. It was an unplanned, celebratory run as I passed my last exam!!!!!!

Sunday Jan 15, 2017 #

10 AM

Running 1:16:00 [3] 11.18 km (6:48 / km)

I started my run at Thredbo River and ran up the Pallaibo Track to Sawpit Creek where I had a drink and continued on around the Waterfall Track. The first part of the run was new to me and was lovely with a very well-maintained track, and the Waterfall Track is one of my all time favourites!

Next we drove up to Charlotte Pass and walked up Mt Stilwell. We carried Florence up but she insisted on walking all the way down by herself (2km) - this was after an earlier bushwalk of about 1km. She's just a little bit self-determined, wonder where she gets that from!

Saturday Jan 14, 2017 #

1 PM

Running 46:30 [3] 9.32 km (4:59 / km)

In the morning Florence and I hung out at Thredbo while Matt went running with Jase and Rob. Then I ran down the valley path to Ngarigo camping area. It was gently downhill which helped me achieve 5mins per km, but otherwise, I felt pretty tired and like I couldn't be bothered, but that's the advantage with one-way runs - you just have to keep going.

Friday Jan 13, 2017 #

Note

Drove to Jindabyne after work with a stop in Cooma for dinner. I was going to do a little run on arrival but it was pissing it down!

Thursday Jan 12, 2017 #

8 AM

Running 38:30 [3]

An early morning lap of Mt Taylor, way too early for me :P Warm-up then 10mins threshold, steady up the steep bit round the back then another 4.15mins threshold before dropping steeply back down the hill.

Tuesday Jan 10, 2017 #

8 AM

Running intervals 36:00 [4] 7.47 km (4:49 / km)

Ran from work early, good old 90/30s! It's been ages. Mostly beside the lake/Kingston Foreshore to the wetlands on some uninterrupted bike path. 10mins w/u and 6 w/d.

Sunday Jan 8, 2017 #

10 AM

Running 1:02:30 [3] 9.24 km (6:46 / km)

Ran up Pig Hill as I saw it on a map once and it looked inviting. Problem was the Doctors Flat Rd up to near the top where the state forest begins was private. I parked outside the farmhouse and hesitated by the gate which had a few signs including "Private Road No Public Access Please do not Enter". I took a sheepish look towards the farmhouse and saw an occupant peering out at me from behind a curtain. Awkward! Then I jumped the gate and run on up the private road. I don't think it should be private so that's why I did it. Happy to back down if any confrontation.

Continued up the road which wound its way up and was fairly steep. After 25mins popped out at the third gate where the road met the state forest, and where there was a nice new sign leading walkers up the Pig Hill Firetrail. That's nice but no-one can get there??? At about 35mins arrived on top in a nice clearing with some great views and a good trig. Then I was a little bit naughty and ran down a "Private Keep OUT!" fire trail down the ridgeline in a more direct line home. This was ridiculously steep in places and hard to move with any speed. I was just thinking that it would be really bad to get bitten by a snake here when I trod on a small snake. I had to slow down even more and exited this direct ridgeline fire trail when the opportunity arose which was earlier than planned, heading back out to Doctors Flat Rd. At least the last two km didn't have snake risk and I was out of sight of farmers. Didn't see any wild pigs which was disappointing. In the end not a very relaxing run but can tick that one off.

Then I drove back down the road to Uriarra Crossing where Matt and Florence had been swimming.
