Running intervals (Streets, pm) 20:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10 x 90secs (30sec rec). A new loop - north then west then I don't know where the hell we went but it took bloody ages to get back home again.

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Matt came too to join in the fun. 10mins warm up then 25mins 'cool down' although I was cold the whole time.

Running (Streets, pm) 32:30 [3]
shoes: Runners - old

North loop.

Running 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Staying in Cowpe in Rossendale, Lancashire. Ran with Matt up from the cottage onto the hills behind - did a big loop including Whittle Hill, Knowl Hill, and Top of Leich. Was a bit worried it would be just as windy as yesterday, but it wasn't too bad and the sun was out! (but I still needed 4 layers). Lots of wind turbines dotted across the hills.

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Went for a run in the Forest of Bowland (a treeless moor). Went up Parlick but it was windy and cold and horrible so Matt and I turned back and did a more sheltered run through some fields to Chipping, and then back though some more fields. Highlight was a trig-point in one of the fields. I was hungry.

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

On Abraham's Valley map (Cannock Chase). Ran some of the M21 JK course which happened to be on the map we had. I quite enjoyed it, and..... I saw 22 deer - get in!

Running 20:00 [3]

15mins to the start (with Matt), and 5mins back to the car from where I stopped orienteering.

Thursday Dec 25, 2008 #

Running (paths) 1:02:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

A run on Cannock Chase, with Matt for the first 20mins. Saw three deer :)

Wednesday Dec 24, 2008 #

Note

Tuesday Dec 23, 2008 #

Running intervals (Streets, pm) 20:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10 x 90secs (30secs rec) around the usual loop. Will think up a new intervals session for Tuesdays soon. maybe.

Running (streets) 20:00 [3]

10mins before and 10mins after.

Monday Dec 22, 2008 #

Running (streets, am) 34:00 [3]
shoes: Runners - old

Before work with Matt. Earliest run this year! It was dark so had to do a street run, west-then-south loop.

Sunday Dec 21, 2008 #

Orienteering race (Honley Wood) 41:18 [5] 5.6 km (7:23 / km) +205m 6:14 / km
shoes: o-shoes

Blue course. Tried to run hard and maintain concentration. Generally, I did both which was good, and I enjoyed the course. Not too cold either (but wet).

Running (paths) 30:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

A 5min warm-up, and then a jog (24mins) afterwards on some paths on the map with Matt.

Saturday Dec 20, 2008 #

Running (Streets, pm) 33:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

In the dark after a day of x-mas shopping. Same as Monday - around LS17 (Wigton?) but without the wrong turns this time. Had music and felt alright.

Running hills (mud) 6:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Tried to do a hills session but the grassy hill was really wet and muddy. Did two hills there then went and found a couple of pavement hills.
Did 4 x 90secs in total (was meant to do 7 reps). It just wasn't working so I went home. Matt came for the run too.

Running 24:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

11mins w/u in Roundhay park with Matt, jogging between the few hill reps that I did, and 6mins run home.
Not the best session but the intention was there and that's what matters yeah?

Wednesday Dec 17, 2008 #

Running 53:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Down through Roundhay Park, around the lake and onto the roads, up Elmete Lane and across the ring-road to Shadwell. Back via the roads. Pretty dark, especially early on. With Matt - pace easy enough so I could talk and breathe at the same time.

Tuesday Dec 16, 2008 #

Running intervals (streets, pm) 20:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10 x 90secs (30secs rec), on the West then South loop. Matt came with me and did the session too. A bit warmer tonight, I even had to take my gloves off.

Running 21:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10mins pre-, 11 post.

Monday Dec 15, 2008 #

Running (streets, pm) 37:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

I ran somewhere new today! Went north to LS17 on M's recommendation. It was ok, will most likely do it again sometime.

Sunday Dec 14, 2008 #

Running long 1:32:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

To Brandon, Wike, across the A61 and into the Harewood grounds. Ran into Matt just near Emmerdale which was a nice surprise :) Then I continued to Eccup reservoir, A61, Alwoodley Golf club, and roads to home. The mud was really bad for the first 30mins. Running through Harewood park was really nice, then I ran at a reasonable pace on the roads.

Saturday Dec 13, 2008 #

Running (streets) 27:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Around da hood with Matt. Pretty cold evening but I spose the fresh air did us good.

Friday Dec 12, 2008 #

Running hills (grass) 10:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10 x 1min hill reps, RH park. It was tough.

Running (Paths) 36:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

A lap of Roundhay park (20mins), recoveries between reps, and jog home (5mins).

Thursday Dec 11, 2008 #

Note
(rest day)

Watched Home & Away instead.

Wednesday Dec 10, 2008 #

Running 47:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Eccup Reservoir. Boring.

Tuesday Dec 9, 2008 #

Running intervals (pm) 20:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

10 x 90secs (30secs rec). Through the park, golfcourse, lap of Shadwell, then back. The back-roads of Shadwell were still frosted over so I found it a bit slippery. The run was good for me - I think my body needed to wake up a bit (the cold helped with that).

Running 27:00 [3]

10mins before and 17mins after.

Monday Dec 8, 2008 #

Running (Streets at night) 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Mostly the usual but I went a bit further down Gledhow valley and up the steep road instead.

Sunday Dec 7, 2008 #

Running (snow) 45:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

Drove into the Yorkshire Dales for a day out, and planned to run up Ingleborough while we were there. Matt and I started out, but the novelty of snow was wearing off very quickly for me.... it was a real pain running uphill in deepish snow. So I turned around and Matt went on but it just got worse so he came back to the car too. Well, the hills looked very pretty from the car anyway!

Saturday Dec 6, 2008 #

Orienteering (Local event) 30:08 [4] 4.4 km (6:51 / km)
shoes: o-shoes

At Roundhay Park, so everything looked rather familiar (although I had to go off tracks a couple of times - eww). Felt a bit shit after a late night.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Jog with Matt from home to the park and back.

shoes: o-shoes

Another run in the snow - similar run to yesterday.

Tuesday Dec 2, 2008 #

Running 51:00 [3]
shoes: o-shoes

In the snow! zig-zagged through Roundhay Park and 2 golf courses and went out to Shadwell too. The snow covered all the mud and made everything look much prettier :) Glad I wore o-shoes too.
