With Rach and Matt from Fairholmes, up to Alport Castles and down into the Snake Rd valley and back over the ridge again. Really clear skies and fresh air, a great day to be out.

Orienteering race (SYO Club Champs) 51:20 [3] 5.0 km (10:16 / km)
27c shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Limb Valley.
I enjoyed having my very own course (titled GE), but the terrain was quite soft and steep and I think I came 2nd last (ahead of Matt).
Wearing my new watch - this one actually has sound and a light and I can take splits....wicked ;)

Running 10:00 [2]

jogging around, taking random splits and visiting a control with Matt.

Running 50:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Top of Rivelin to Wyming Brook, down to the reservoir and back up Coppice Track to car. Felt pretty good and was 5mins quicker than last time.

Note

RIP CASIO F-91W, 1994 - 2008, it had a good life and went on many adventures with me. 1 battery change and 6 watchstrap changes over its life. (it actually still works, but with watchstrap held together with strapping tape I decided it was time to go...).

Note

Today I watched a man doing a dance routine with a digger (big yellow metal contraption used for digging up dirt). It was ....a bit disturbing. No joke there was a dance floor, choreographer and everything. The digger wasn't very graceful, and it could only spin round and move up and down.

Running 33:30 [3]
shoes: Runners - old

Rounds some streets - Walkley? Dunno.... it was getting quite dark.... just followed Matt.

Running 32:00 [3]
shoes: Runners - old

Put running off all day, then Matt made me go running and I made him go too. Hunters Bar direction.

Running 52:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Eventually got myself out the door. Streets - Rivelin - pond - stables - Crookes. Quite fresh, didn't need to take off my thermal.

Sunday Sep 21, 2008 #

Note

Day out in Buxton.

Running 50:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Lovely afternoon for a run (but quite hazy). From Redmire Reservoirs with Matt, up to Stanedge Pole and along to High Neb, down to the conduit and back to the car. Had a stitch for all of it, bringing me to a stop a few times, but nice to sit and rest in the sun.

Running (streets) 31:00 [3]
shoes: Runners - old

In the direction of Hunters Bar. Quite a quick pace because it was around streets so no point just jogging. Felt pretty tired.

Thursday Sep 18, 2008 #

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

A run with Matt along the top of Rivelin, down into the valley to the road, then finished with a hard effort up Coppice Track coz there was a runner (possibly) gaining on us and we couldn't let him overtake us :)

Wednesday Sep 17, 2008 #

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Frogatt and White Edge.

Tuesday Sep 16, 2008 #

Takin it easy as still nursing sore quads.

My quads hurt.

Orienteering race (Ilkley Moor Regional) 1:08:03 [3] 7.5 km (9:04 / km) +270m 7:41 / km
shoes: o-shoes

A little potter across the moors at Ilkley. Head feeling alot better than it did at 4am but quads a mess from yesterday's descent. I enjoyed being out there.

Compulsory run from car to start. Finish to car.

Saturday Sep 13, 2008 #

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Up a big valley and along the edge of Kinder. Then waited at the 3min crossing for the boys and their barrel. Oh they looked so tired and muddy. Took some photos and tried to keep up with them down the hill (failed). A relaxing afternoon in the sun followed.
[I would insert a photo here if I knew how]

Running 55:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Same run as Monday. I like this run. There was direct sunlight for some of it which surprised the hell out of me - haven't felt the sun's rays since the last weekend in July!

Wednesday Sep 10, 2008 #

Running 56:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

To Endcliffe, up the valley and back.

Tuesday Sep 9, 2008 #

Running 22:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Lap of Damflask. Quite hard work and it was more boring than I remembered. At least it was flat.

Running 25:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Another lap - 10mins warm-up (then did other lap) then jogged the rest to complete the 2nd lap.

Monday Sep 8, 2008 #

Running 57:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Parked at the top of Coppice Track, ran along the top of Rivelin to the stream that flows into Rivelin Dam, followed the stream down then ran along the road + tracks to the car. Nice run.

Sunday Sep 7, 2008 #

Running 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

From Strines up to Back Tor with Matt. Then across to a hill then to another little hill (Cartledge Flat). Back through the plantation forests.

Friday Sep 5, 2008 #

Note

I swear I WOULD have gone running if it had not rained all day. Like, it didn't stop raining from when I got up to when I went to bed. And then it kept raining.

Thursday Sep 4, 2008 #

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Parked close to Rivelin so didn't have to do street running. Up and down the valley, with a 'hill effort' up through some horse paddocks at the turn around point.

Wednesday Sep 3, 2008 #

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Along Froggatt Edge and back along White Edge. Weather was pretty yucky, couldn't decide if I was having a good or bad time. In the end I decided it was quite nice because I was well rugged up with thermal, windproof etc etc and I found the run refreshing.
