Running 35:00 [3]

Knocklofty.
I wanted to do a faster session but took the dog so couldn't run anywhere near streets (this pup needs serious training!!) and Knocklofty was so steep.

Wednesday Nov 29, 2006 #

Road Bike 2:30:00 [3]

Glenorchy - over Grasstree Hill - almost to Richmond - Cambridge - Rosny - West Hobart.
Last ride on the roadie till January.

Tuesday Nov 28, 2006 #

Running 50:00 [3] **

Montagu Bay.
I took a map but stuck to tracks/footpaths. Still sunny at 7.45pm, awesome.

Monday Nov 27, 2006 #

Running (Roads) 25:00 [2]

West Hobart.
A belated cool-down.

Sunday Nov 26, 2006 #

Running race (Road) 1:55:50 [4] 21.4 km (5:25 / km) +1270m 4:10 / km

2006 Point to Pinnacle.
From the Casino on the water to the top of Mt Wellington following a sealed road the whole way.
It was pretty unpleasant like I knew it would be. Basically it's just up the whole time with no rests. I was quite underdressed in shorts and a light thermal which went on at the 10km mark... the last 4km was run in zero degrees, strong winds and light snow.

But I was absolutely stoked with my time, as I thought my aim of under 2hrs was quite unrealistic. This year I had the Scissor Sisters and Kelly Clarkson (among others) to keep me company and this helped a great deal. New shoes and encouragement from the 800 odd walkers also helped. And the knowledge that I had to be on the first or second bus back down the Mt in order to start work at 12 (or the boss would kill me) also spurred me on.

9km to go - 60mins (running time)
4km to go - 1hr 34mins
2km to go - 1hr 46mins
Finish - 1hr 55mins 50secs (8th Female)

Previous times:
2005: 2:08:55 (105th overall)
2002: 2:46:32 (321st overall)
2000: 2:45:54 (320th overall)

Running (Roads) 32:00 [3]

To the Waterworks.

Orienteering race 18:23 [5] ** 3.6 km (5:06 / km) +95m 4:31 / km
11c

Corporate Challenge (Waterworks).
Pretty straight forward, but I was really stuffed.

Running 29:00 [3]

I regretted not taking the car. Had to run home.

Wednesday Nov 22, 2006 #

Running 1:04:00 [3]

Along Seven Mile Beach, with Daisy (dog).
Every 5th minute was run close to max (ie 12 of the 64 minutes were run at 90%). It was a good run.

Mt Bike 20:00 [2]

Home from Kate's house.

Tuesday Nov 21, 2006 #

Running 28:00 [4]

To the domain, around and back. Struggled a bit.
I trained before work today... this has only happened once before in 2005, so I was pretty proud of myself (good thing my shift didn't start til 12).

Sunday Nov 19, 2006 #

Orienteering 48:00 [2] **

Training session for TIS new kids. Knocklofty.
I was shadowing.

Orienteering 16:00 [3] **

Collecting flags.

Road Bike 1:05:00 [3]

Not the nicest day for it. Didn't ride anywhere exciting.

Saturday Nov 18, 2006 #

Running 1:00:00 [3]

At Belbins.
Training before midday... this was a very strange experience. Quite a nice area, especially for mt biking. I did fear for my life, however, running along the ridgeline with an active rifle range just below me... I felt like a big moving target.

Road Bike 1:20:00 [3]

Out through the northern suburbs to Cadburys and back. I did beg for some reject caramel truffles but they wanted to see some dough, and I didn't have any :(
Awesome ride though, it was a 'no chain' day... mostly due to the fact that it was very flat and I have recovered from last weekend.

Friday Nov 17, 2006 #

Mt Bike 2:00:00 [3]

With Dan. Up through the waterworks to Ferntree, up to Radfords track, then down various tracks including the S57. It was a bad combination: majorly out of practice on my bike, yet pumped after watching the premiere of Flying High Again.... the S57 was awesome but I really needed a down hill bike to have some real fun.

Running 23:00 [2]

Wednesday Nov 15, 2006 #

Note

After dashing home from work in a hail/snow storm, I decided not to exercise.

Tuesday Nov 14, 2006 #

Note

Having trouble walking...

Monday Nov 13, 2006 #

Note

My quads are a mess. Standing up all day at work was bad enough...

Sunday Nov 12, 2006 #

Running race 2:34:23 [4] 19.7 km (7:50 / km)

Kentish Triple Top Mountain Run (Mt Claude, Mt Van Dyke, Mt Roland).
I did about the same time as last year (2:36:35) so I suppose it was alright. The weather was pretty awful though, mist/fog the whole way and quite wet, so that the track was pretty slippery.
I didn't want to carry water, so I drank it all before I started which probably wasn't the best idea. And I didn't have Im to chase or Louis to run with this year... it was a weird feeling running in the fog on my own. Felt kind of ok the whole way, not strong but not exhausted either.
The descent off Roland was suicide, I took it pretty carefully.
1st Male: Sean Clauson: 2:12:08

Friday Nov 10, 2006 #

Note

Decided to watch the end of the Mark Webber Challenge so that I could meet Craig Mottram, but discovered that 'finishing in Hobart on Friday' just wasn't enough information. Gutted.

But then went clubbing and ran into him in a bar so it was all good. How does he get away with that mullet??

Running 25:00 [2]

West Hobart.
Tryin to loosen up for Sunday.

Thursday Nov 9, 2006 #

Running 20:00 [3]

Home to Domain, Domain home.

Orienteering race 20:52 [5] ** 4.0 km (5:13 / km) +60m 4:51 / km

Corporate Challenge - The Domain.
Felt a bit tired near the end. It was nice not having to run around the big hill for a change.. got taken down to the other end instead.

Wednesday Nov 8, 2006 #

Road Bike 1:10:00 [3]

Out along the bike track to Claremont and back.

Orienteering race 32:20 [5] ** 3.9 km (8:17 / km) +190m 6:40 / km
11c

Running 27:00 [4]

Ran home at a fairly quick pace.

Monday Nov 6, 2006 #

Running 50:00 [3]

Along the waterfront from Bellerive to Tranmere and back. The only run I could think of that was flat!

Sunday Nov 5, 2006 #

Running 47:00 [3]

West Hobart streets and Knocklofty reserve. It was cold.

Saturday Nov 4, 2006 #

Running 30:00 [3]

West Hobart and Knocklofty.

Friday Nov 3, 2006 #

Running 31:00 [3]

Churchill Ave/Sandy Bay Rd.
I had my last uni exam today! And I got over my cold, and my (repaired) MP3 player turned up in the mail. So, three reasons to start running again.
