trail run warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.8 km (5:33 / km) +25m 5:12 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Icebugs Spirit 2015

feeling lethargic this morning, humidity is oppressing.
11 AM

race (Red-X Day 2) 1:06:00 [4] *** 8.4 km (7:51 / km) +280m 6:44 / km
spiked:13/18c shoes: Icebugs Spirit 2015

I started really slow, almost felt like middle of the course the day before, was quite confused with map and control placement on #1. it was ~ 1 min or so. Cleaner, but a little sloppy till 5, much better from there, and when the major climb was behind me, I started to feel better and better, even pushed pace on easy legs toward the end. happy with that, but general power in the legs is low, climbing is very weak, will improve as racing continues.
Loved my new glasses: I can read the map again, on the run, just like before glasses and contacts. They did fog up a little when I was standing or moving very slow, it did not bother me much. Shell be fine with cooler temps and lower humidity.

Boris won with 55'.

race (Red-X Day 1) 1:26:05 [4] *** 9.9 km (8:42 / km) +360m 7:22 / km
spiked:15/16c shoes: Icebugs Spirit 2016

I felt quite good for first halve of the course, with not so much effort, running and navigation was close to perfect. Later heat and luck of longer training got to me, it became quite laborious, mistake on 13 followed. I was may be 50-60 meters from control on a straight line, second guessed myself, started to climb, relocated and found the control, but ~ 4 min was lost. from there it was tough going, walking a lot more than I would like to. Clean though.

When you realize that your phone is "smarter" than you, you can live with that, but when you realize that there is a toilet that is "smarter " than you, you realize, you outlived your time...

midnight hike after "meeting" with my uncle over a bottle of 12 y.o. scotch. Lots of young kids cruising in their cars, late, in the middle of the week, one may wonder...
