Nav was so easy except for some questionable mapping of paths which lead to a 30 second error at 11 coming out at completely the wrong place. Apart from that it was fairly straight forward and mostly downhill. Still felt slow and pipped by one second by Tom Perry. To be fair to him he is quicker than me.

Disappointed with this result. Navigation was fine except from a minute miss at 16 due to poor compass, also lost 1min 30 searching for my map after I dropped it climbing up a slope and fell in a river as well. Physically I felt slow and laboured taking almost the entire race until i felt warmed up. Partly due to the lack of a proper warm up but also the stupid mileage I did last week. In future training I need cut down on quantity and up on quality also adding more low impact training so I don’t feel so trashed when it comes to race day.
